Who Are the Annoying People Who Ride Their Bikes on River Road During Morning Rush Hour???

Anonymous
It's so annoying. Then when you are finally able to pass them, they act as though they are so focused and start pedaling furiously. You KNOW it's rush hour and you're inconveniencing people in cars going to work or other places. Yet, you, in your specialness, you think, "Hey, it's 8:00/9:00, let me go get my bikey wikey and ride down one of the busiest streets I can find. If you have time to ride at this hour, then obviously, you don't have to be at work at that hour like the rest of us do! Just go another time.

Maybe they're commuting by bike to work. Do you have a better suggestion for where one should bike to get where they're going? Maybe you should advocate with the city for separated bike lanes in your area.

I've got plenty of gripes about bikers and their frequent refusal to obey lights, stop signs, and the like. But your post is so absurd that you must just be trying to get people agitated.

This. Obviously those people are riding their "bikey wikeys" to work.

It's so entitled, thinking that it's ok to ride your bike to work instead of driving your car like a normal person!

Or, um, something.

You annoy me by driving your car on MY road. Me and my car are more important than you and you should just get off the road and out of MY way. What are you even doing? Going to yoga and starbucks? I am more important than you so go away.

Those commuting to work.
Just like you.
Duh.

I agree, bikers are irritating. They have the right to commute as do cars. Fine. I can still be annoyed though.

No, you can't. They are putting their lives on the line while you're cozy and safe in your gaz-guzzler contributing to global warming.

What you should be doing is paying extra attention to the safety of bikers and pedestrians, ie all those who don't have a metal cage protecting them from a collision.

I drive a car, and that's what I do. Bikers never annoy me. I am concerned for them.

I'll admit, I hate sharing the road with bikers. It make me super nervous. That's why I love when streets have separated bike lanes. It's so much safer for everyone!

It seems pretty damn stupid to put your life on the line to get to work.

I'd either get a car like everyone else, or take a bus. But it's idiotic to risk your life (it it really IS that dangerous) just to get to work.

You can't tell me a bike is the ONLY option these people have. No one believes that.

Therefore it's a choice. And they are CHOOSING to risk their life to get to ....... their desk at work.

That's just F'ing stupid.

If I'm gonna risk my life, it'll be to save my kids or my wife. Not for getting to my job.
