No, even that is not true. Kids are better off in an intact family with less money than they are with a single mom with more money. |
Are you the breadwinner? Does your spouse have a job that doesn't pay well but requires higher education? |
Bwahahaha, +1,000,000 |
Getting pregnant is only the start of a long relentless journey of parenting; don't forget that cute little baby turns into a person who will rely on you for at least 18 years, and then you never stop being a parent even when the days of active parenting are over. |
Not in my world. |
LOL so funny that you think you can apply some sort of universal rule of attraction to me and my intimate relationships. |
Not the PP, but I have plenty of separate friendships and important memories without my DH. I traveled a lot with my girlfriends, made friends with coworkers, etc. |
There are studies that show the "alpha" man or woman is more likely to be cheated on. Something about lack of emotional intelligence makes them bad partners. |
Correct its not a coincidence that almost all of the people at the top of the corporate ladder are divorced or in sham marriages. To the alpha women out there just me you do not want to marry an alpha male it won't work. I think that Sandburg b$%^ is a moron but the one thing she got right is if one partner wants to prioritize a career the other one has to be the house whatever. So alpha ladies yes that means marrying a beta nice guy and also knowing going in that you will be the primary breadwinner and really being ok with that because deep down no matter what you say you can't fight nature and that all women want some guy to "take care" of them in some fashion. Maybe your house husband can cook and clean really well or something to fulfill that You can't have it all bwhahahaha. |
Look at the NYT engagements page and see how is marrying high-quality men. It's not young beautiful Peggy Sues from the trailer parks. It's similarly situated and moneyed women. |
You're making the same mistake as that dude from whatever college that went on a shooting rampage because the girls didn't notice him and he felt like they should. The actual truth was that he was at the bottom of the dating market but felt entitled to the girls at the very top of it. Had he set his sights on the less popular, less moneyed, and less beautiful, he would have had plenty of action. For you, remember that there are myriads of women out there to whom an educated man with a steady job and benefits who probably wouldn't beat them represents a huge social leap forward. These women won't look down at your son if he decides to be a teacher. They would be all over him. A teacher who thinks he is entitled to a beauty queen with multiple degrees and a trust fund? Probably won't happen, unless he has a similar setup. But if you want your son to have plenty of female action, teach him to target women to whom he would be a huge catch and a strike of luck. |
They would have, but between a beautiful young girl with intelligence, drive and career and a beautiful young girl without, the choice is very clearly in favor of the first. Look. Few men are capable of supporting a family on a single income. They realize that. They don't even especially want the pressures of a single breadwinner. What man would give up a second income once he understands how much nicer his lifestyle could be with two incomes vs. one? |
This. It's all about the family. Not to sound like a snot (because I'm certainly not wealthy), but those with real money (read: family) want nothing to do with corporate strivers or young beautiful Peggy-sues. If DD didn't meet her DH at Riverdale, they were probably introduced through mom and dad at Scarsdale. Sorry ladies. |
What a crock. Crawl back under your hole. |
| PP, take it one step down. Those from affluent families (not inherited wealth, but say two generations of surgeons) prefer to couple with the similarly educated. Even the educated but un-moneyed (say NYT columnists or other journos) prefer similar women. Education is the common denominator that cuts across. |
