SERIOUS: Have you ever had a premonition about something, and then it happened?

It was really frightening, but I was so grateful that I listened to my intuition.

Do you think God was talking to you?

One night a had a very unspecific dream that I was in a dangerous situation. I woke up frightened.

The next morning I tried unsuccessfully to remember what the situation was.

Later that day, as I was headed into a familiar section of Rock Creek Park, suddenly that same frightened feeling from the night before came over me. I decided not to walk that way. Why take the chance?

I'll never know if I averted something dangerous.

Yes. Twice. The first was as clear as day - I was in sixth grade, running home in the dark, and I suddenly knew with total certainty that I was going to break something. A second later, I tripped, went flying, and broke a bone.

I'm more spiritual than religious. (Stopped attending church years ago bc I wasn't feeling any connection)

So I'm not sure what to make of it. I do know that I'm grateful for whatever "it" was that intervened.

I sense when a deer will be in the road around a bend, which is useful. I've had a couple times when I've gone to inquire about someone's significant other and knew they broke up or were thinking about breaking up, before I could get the sentence out. Long term relationships, not flings. I think some things are just reading people, but some are intuition/a feeling. I have a doctor who says I might be an empath, whatever that is.

It means you naturally understand what's going on with people or relationships, without being told.

A friend of mine is really good at reading situations -- sometimes just looking at someone (say, a new person at work) and knowing how they will react in certain situations. She doesn't think of it as intuition, just something she understands - and wonders why others don't and why people are so impressed or surprised when she's right about a complex situation that no one else foresaw.

I had a dream my dad died a week before it happened. I was just a kid and told him. He said he went to a cardiologist that day but daddy was going to be okay. The morning he died I was at a sleepover and the phone rang, I answered the phone and said "dad's dead" and it was my mom.

PP who dreamed her dad died- To me, yes. I also had a dream all my teeth fell out the night before he died. When my grandma died that night I dreamt one tooth fell out.

She's probably an empath too. This sounds like me and I'm an empath. As I've become more familiar with it i realize I really do pick up the emotions of other people- which is why I often interrupt people and can finish their sentences. Or if someone is having a hard time expressing themselves, say, to a group, I can always pick up what they are saying and translate it so everyone gets it. I even have no issues with people who don't speak the same language. I think it's definitely because I'm an empath, but as I've learned more about this facet of my personality I see the downsides- namely, constantly feeling bombarded with others' emotions, both good and bad. It can be truly exhausting.

I wish I could tap into it more.

You can, but you have to practice it, meditate, stay in touch with God. It's definitely a skill that everyone is born with, though some have high levels than others, like any other talent. And just like a talent, practice can help expand your abilities, no matter the level you were gifted with.

I can tap into mine at will. I use it absolutely ALL the time. Best sense ever

Op, so hoe exactly do you practice this?

Well, first, and this takes a while- start listening. I mean all the time. I mean you know when you're driving and you suddenly think, "God, I feel like I should switch the radio"- do it! Now matter how small. Or "I forgot something in my room"- go up and double check, no matter what. There will be many false alarms, and there will be a few times when it is accurate, an actual premonition. Over time, you will learn to tell the difference between that supernatural "nudge" in the right direction, and just errant, everyday thoughts/worries. But you have to practice it enough to learn it- it's like becoming fluent in a language, there's a long period where you're going to be annoyed and not understanding.

Once you reach the point of being able to understand the actual spiritual messages, then you will recognize them when they come. God will see that you are actually listening, that you have done the work and want to know, and He/She will send you more of them. You'll also be able to recognize the God energy that sends these messages, and so you'll be able to tap into it more at will. This can take a long time to reach that point- I would say it's taken me several years. But it's been worth it, and you are learning and still interacting with God in the meantime.

Things that can help to speed up the process: MEDITATION. Yoga, alone time when you work to connect with God (which is basically meditation). Going to spiritual vertex centers like Sedona, where the veil is thinner and you will be able to feel God more easily.

I hope that is helpful. I'm sure I will get ripped for being a woo on here but there are many like me who can connect to God and have these messages. It's just places like DC are not very open to these beliefs.

belief in God is not needed to have premonitions

Connection with God is absolutely key to tuning into your psychic seeing and having premonitions.

Not true. I am an atheist and very intuitive. I have had several major premonitions.

For you ,maybe but not for everyone. Some people have premonitions unbidden and without any connection to god.

I think i'll trust the professional psychic on this, not you, TYVM

You don't know what the word "professional" means?

It means doing it for a living - Like professional crystal ball reader, professional dermatologist, professional Reki master, professional gastroenterologist, professional empath.

She means "doing it for money." Which is a little suspect and entirely different from having dreams and premonitions of the type described here.
