Christmas with the Trumps: The beginning of the Kardashian-esque constant social media?

Malia Obama twerking (badly) on stage at a rap concert was embarrassing. I know she's a teen and allowed fun but still it was cringe. And her friends present at said concert were all white. That bugged me... why was she getting crunk with a bunch of white girls?

Ivanka's camisole is not embarrassing; that's just fat women being jealous. The color and cut was not revealing, she probably had it layered with another top and de-layered and took the photo casually with her husband and family. Only reachers find that embarrassing.

Maybe she should hijab or burka it up to please the flesh haters. Gawd.

And there it is again: protesting too much. Tacky is tacky, lady. Money can't buy you class.

Not really, pp. I'll be in my office tomorrow focusing on social justice advocacy. I'm good.

Keep telling yourself that, Ms social justice advocate (or whatever you really are).

Not a camisole, pp. It's a floor length black silk negligee. Weird.

But a floor length burka isn't weird? I am amazed at the lengths ppl will go to defend burkas, hijabs, etc, and call Ivanka tacky and weird. Talk about bending yourself into shapes for your pretzel logic.

2016 and still judging women by their "scandalous" clothing?

By all means, post a link to a prominent woman in the First Family/White House wearing a hijab for a holiday photo.
What a nonsense response.

Amusing to see people falling over backwards to defend a de facto future FLOTUS posing in lingerie.

You can't equate a celebrity's on stage attire with the President-Elect's daughter (who will play a role in his administration) and her bizarre attire in a family picture she posted online. Apples and watermelons.

And you can't equate Ivanka Trump's nightdress, or slip dress, or whatever it was (which was nothing shocking in the least, and certainly not what any normal person would consider "bizarre") with the poses and costuming of Beyoncé. You simply can't. And to call Beyoncé a "role model" for young girls, as both Obamas did? Come ON.

Unless you're a nun, there is no way you can condemn what Ivanka Trump had on - a strappy dress/nightgown which showed nothing - and then turn around and say this "role model" to the President and First Lady is dressed in a way you'd feel comfortable having your daughter emulate. No way at all.

A costume worn by a celebrity in a performance is not the same thing as a public servant. Different standards for people with different roles. Duh.

And you know it's weird. Otherwise you could link to others who post family holiday photos of themselves with their kids in a negligee. Their poor nanny (who was likely the one who took the photo).

You do know you're making this into a *much bigger deal* than it actually is, right? Oh, the faux moral outrage over a relatively modest black nightgown. How ridiculous you look.

Bahahahaha! Don't forget the big ol' self-congratulatory pat on your own back!

This is why the rest of American doesn't take you seriously.

You are the only person talking about hijabs and burkas. Once again, the conservative crazy is erroneously conflating separate issues in a misguided attempt at crafting an argument. Sigh.

I do, however, enjoy your tireless commitment to defending Ivanka's bizarrely inappropriate black silk negligee holiday pic. Can't wait to see what she wears in her NYE post.

No, I think the intelligent among us are just at loose ends trying to figure out what the hell we can do about Pres. Asterisk.

I can't wait till about, oh, six months in when the Republicans reveal evidence that Donald cheated. And then we're stuck with that dung heap until the treasonous Republicans decide to do something about it.

Cheated on what? His wife? The election? Bingo?

I can honestly say I haven't seen any behavior by Ivanka Trump that I would call "embarrassing." Not even the wearing of a nightgown in a picture - at night even! Before bed! What I do find embarrassing are the liberals on DCUM seizing on one singular image which isn't even particularly inappropriate, and blowing it into a ludicrously huge deal. You people are cringe-worthy.

Have you heard of the maxi-dress? Give me a break.
