Christmas with the Trumps: The beginning of the Kardashian-esque constant social media?

This is part of the publicity push they tried with Ivanka riding coach class commercial. Conway probably wanted some nice Kennedy-esque family photos of Christmas with the Trumps but none of them likes spending the holidays together.

And yes, the negligee photo is weirdly off-base.

Ain't that the truth.

None of them are together. Trump is in FL, Ivanka is in HI, one son is in NC, Tiffany is in GA...can't recall where the other son is.

The negligee isn't a negligee (I think) its a dress designed to look like one. I've seen celebrities wear them and it looks right up Rihanna's alley. Whether the First Lady-in-practice and a supposedly practicing Orthodox Jew should have chosen to wear it another matter entirely.

It's not a morning picture...see the menorahs? It's nighttime, and they are all in pjs. She's wearing a black silk negligee, and she posted it publicly.

Look, I can't stand Ivanka or her husband. But it's a friggin nightgown. She's modest - there's nothing revealing about it or even "sexy" other than the fact that it's black and there's some lace at the top. Again, there's much to be concerned about with the family, but this ain't where we should be focusing our attention. Let's grow up, shall we?

No. Let's look at the photos, form some opinions and comment. That's the objective of social media.

Christmas Eve, Christmas morning - does it matter?

But okay I can concede that its probably a negligee. Poor choice on her part (as a political figure), as a celeb/Paris Hilton wannabee though she looks hot.

Then try and muster at least as much indignation about the things that should bother you about this family as opposed to the non-issue of what Ivanka is wearing in this picture. So many things to discuss of consequence about this women and her behavior this seems so petty and silly.

Double standard though is hot and heavy here. First Lady Ivanka Trump gets away with posing in a thin-as-hell black string negligee but First Lady Michelle Obama poses in a sleeveless black dress with pearls and all hell breaks loose?

Then start another thread, pp. We agree that there is plenty wrong with Ivanka and her husband, but let's stay focused in this thread.

This thread is about social media and what we will undoubtedly have to endure with this family. While other presidents and VPs tried to shield their children from the limelight, Trump seems to shine a light on his offspring. Biden has adult kids and grandchildren in the dc metro area (saw him at his grandchild's game once in MoCo), yet none of us had to endure constant posts of them. The Trump family's constant social media presence is all over mainstream media. It's weird. And now it's trashy.

But apparently it's a conservative thing. Google indicates that Sarah Palin wore a black negligee when promoting her book about Christmas family values. And we all know that conservatives are obsessed with sex.

There are plenty of other threads about the lack of judgement displayed by the entire Trump family. This one is about their Christmas photos.

More commentary on Donald Trump's solo Christmas photo. In short: weird how he posts a Christmas photo of himself without family. Christmas is about family, and every politician tends to share a family photo (dressed up).

Well, Melania wore a miniskirt to church for Christmas service so nothing to see here lol.

When, exactly, did "all hell break loose" from M.O. wearing a sleeveless black dress? Pretty sure that was widely considered to be a great look on her.

Do you spend every holiday with your immediate family, or do they actually have family of their own they need to spend some holidays with (in-laws, etc.)?

Honestly, you are all just searching for anything and everything to grouse about. Talk about desperate.
