Not the pp. WTF? Are you getting into the minds of others now? Who exactly are you to tell the pp that he/she does not view everyone as equal? Do you have any idea how arrogant you sound? |
Hence, "white privilege" is a RACIST term, and should be condemned as such. |
There is no white privilege. There IS American privilege. Just ask 95% people in this planet. Including the 15 million people living among us without proper documentation. True, some folks here don't get it...that's raw American privilege. |
there is white privilege and there is american privilege. |
Then please define your "white privilege" so we're clear here. |
That's because my Polish friend doesn't have a 4 page long rap sheet of convictions |
Ouch. |
NP. You, however, dear PP, seem to think it's fine to make all of these prejudgments (you spelled the word incorrectly, FYI), right here, based on the people whom your presume to read DCUM. |
This is for you, 13:41.... |
That's great but I'm not talking about you, in particular nor am I speaking for myself. I, like you, tend to try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I , like you, try to view everyone as individuals. But I'm not speaking about myself or anyone else for that matter when I say that whites are viewed by and large as individuals while people of color are viewed as part of their collective...I'm speaking about society as a whole and more specifically I'm speaking about the systemic views of our society in the sense that while a cop or a lawyer or a judge may regard a person of color as an individual but law enforcement agencies and the judicial system by and large doesn't. I'm speaking about the systemic views of our society in the sense that while a banker or a mortgage lender may regard a person of color as an individual but financial institutions by and large don't. I'm speaking about the systemic views of our society in the sense that while a reporter or a journalist may regard a person of color as an individual but the media by and large doesn't. It is the skewed societal and systemic views that are primarily responsible for stereotyping and criminalizing and dehumanizing people of color more so than everyday people like you and I - we're primarily just spectators taking in all the programming and propaganda and ultimately we decide for ourselves whether to buy into it or not but the reality is its being widely circulated and most spectators simply believe what they see and accept what they're told. |
Again, it's lies like this that Anger white people and propel Trump. Yes, there is housing and job discrimination. Here's why whites discriminate. Housing If Landlords rent to Blacks, they think the Landlord is further govt assistance. They do everything possible to squeeze the Landlord out of rent. Don't pay on time, don't pay for damages. When confronted, they whine and whine about racism. Job You can't get rid of Blacks that won't do the job. If you try, they scream racism again. No one wants to deal with that shit. |
I'm saying its human nature. It has nothing to do with who reads DCUM. I'm not saying anyone is racist or intentionally cruel. Just that humans do make judgements as part of our nature. You cannot escape it. |
Not the pp, but the spelling of prejudgment as “prejudgement” is not incorrect. In fact, it is more relevant in Britain. But, it is acceptable. |
Thank you. You are honest and I appreciate it. THe first step in correcting a situation is to acknowledge it. But many whites won't even acknowledge it and that behavior is not only not helpful but also doesn't earn the trust of the minorities. |
I don't have a personal definition of white privilege. It is what it is. You can use a dictionary as well I assume. |
