I was always envious of tv homes with 2 staircases!

There's not much in jealous of, but when a friend of a friend bought a house with 2 staircases, I was in awe. Like they had officially been successful at life now.

Op here. I loved the two staircases too and spent so much time as a kid thinking really fancy houses have a kitchen stairway and a front stairway only to realize IRL you rarely see that because nobody is living in a sitcom and needs easy entrance/exit points for scenes. But so many of those 90s show houses had them!!

We built our house three years ago with a front and back staircase.

NICE!

And didn't Becky and Darlene sleep in the attic? Also no formal dining room. And considering Dan worked in construction I'm surprised the basement wasn't finished.

It's like that saying "the cobbler's wife has no shoes"; the contractor's wife has no finished basement and a house full of half finished fucking problems going back for YEARS.

- Totally not bitter contractor's wife.

Like on the episode where Roseanne sees the inside of the house Dan and friends were flipping (that Jackie ends up buying) and there's a built-in bookcase, spice rack and a dishwasher! Roseanne says "It's like you're cheating on our house!"

Becky and Darlene sleep on the second floor across the hall from DJ's room.

The apartment on Family Affair! Love the 60s decor and those doors with the round handles in the middle.

From the posts on the other thread about TV houses, now I have yet another reason I've really got to start watching "Black-ish"! I want to check out that sneaker closet....

I love Frasier's apartment in "Frasier." Those gorgeous two-toned wood doors, the terrific view, the compact kitchen (because I'm going to have a live-in chef there and won't have to deal with the tiny kitchen!), the master bathroom that's the size of my entire real-life bedroom....And the location. Seattle's great and he gets that terrific view!

okay, well, while we're discussing the upstairs of Roseanne's house... There were two bedrooms up there, but each bedroom had a bathroom. What's up with that? Darlene and Becky's bathroom was shown many times, and in the episode where Fisher beats up Jackie, she goes to DJ's bathroom to change--and Darlene accidentally walks in on her, thinking DJ's in there. It clearly wasn't the same bathroom since the bathroom doors were directly across the room from the hallway doors. Maybe that's why the basement was unfinished--Dan was spending his extra time adding bathrooms for everyone.
