Favorite TV Houses

Speaking of abc, I LOVE the kiddle's house. THERE is realistic. I love how the show designed in the clutter and awkward spaces. And the times their dining room becomes a makeshift guest room. The basement is totally a mess, etc. Its so the class that DH and I grew up in, and our parents continue to be like. We fight it but I see us in that show too. For now

Yes, the Middle! I have thought that, too. The clutter and awkward space/furniture placement is incredibly realistic. That set designer should win an award, if they haven't already.

Movie houses that have cool attic rooms. Home Alone, the (1990s) Little Women house.

My friend in college had an attic bedroom in her old Victorian house at home. Had to climb up a ladder she pulled down from the ceiling to get there. It was so cool!!

When looking for homes, I did find a few that 2 sets of stairs like in full house. A little too out of our price range but they're certainly out there!

Definitely Brady Bunch. Also loved apartment in Mad About You. Also thirty something home of faith and Michael because it was never perfect.

And didn't Becky and Darlene sleep in the attic? Also no formal dining room. And considering Dan worked in construction I'm surprised the basement wasn't finished.

You must not be married to a guy in the trades. I am and totally get it. After working 60 hours/week on other people's homes, the LAST thing he wants to do on his day off is to work on his own house. And if he's between jobs, it's not like he has the extra $$ to buy materials needed to finish the basement.

Oh one more - the SF house in Party of Five!

Everyone talks about the kitchen, but I loved the whole thing. I think that Nancy Meyers' movies generally feature amazing houses (Father of the Bride, Parent Trap, etc.)

Also the house in Stepmom is great.

Our kitchen is based on that kitchen. Still love it.

Only I'd remove the green paint from the stairs and kitchen cabinets. The rest I love.

Me too!!!! Love the Good Luck Charlie House. And the show

I always wondered how they could afford it, and last season they revealed that Lena's parents gave them like $250,000 for the down payment.

Bree's house was nice but the Solis' house was my favorite. Especially loved the big front porch!

With today's SF real estate prices, the Salinger kids & the Tanners could all be financially set for life of they sold those houses & moved almost anywhere ekse in the country!

Not that it really matters but I think the grandmother who Monica was illegally subletting the rent-controlled apartment from was still alive; she was the one who was at Monica & Chandler's wedding (Jack's mother), not the one who died in an early episode (Judy's mother). She moved to Florida before the show started but her name was still on the lease, which was how Monica was able to afford such a nice (not to mention huge) apartment in the Village.

Still illegal, of course, so your point stands

The Brady Bunch house was the house I envied when I was five so of course that tops my own personal list.

I loved the staircase, the girl's all-pink bedroom & the den w/the T.V. too.

Plus the backyard looked like a fun place to play.

Liked the Bundy's family home (sofa excluded!) but the close exterior front door shots absolutely DO NOT line up when the entire facade of the house is shown in the opening credits.
Not even close.

Other faves on my list include:

• The fancy (schmancy!) home on The Nanny.

• Who's The Boss? I love the country theme of the colonial home & all the plants in the kitchen.

• Three's Company. I like the floor plan how the two bedrooms are separated by the bathroom and how the kitchen had a swinging door for privacy.

• The Golden Girls. What a lovely beach-side villa style home they had.

• Two and a Half Men. It was a beach house in Malibu. Enough said.

• Good Times.
Yes they lived in the Cabrini Green Projects, but that home was one of loyalty + love.
