Favorite TV Houses

Anonymous
The "greatest TV episodes" thread got me thinking about all the houses we've grown to love on TV shows over the years. What were some of your favorites? Mine are:

The Conner house on Roseanne. It's definitely not the nicest/fanciest but it was EXACTLY the kind of house you'd imagine a working class family in Lanford, Illinois living in. It just felt so "familiar."

The original Draper home on Mad Men. NOT the Francis home which was cold and sterile feeling, nor the mod apartment Don had with Megan.

Growing up I did love the Cosby house but one thing I could never reconcile was that the outside shots showed it was a brownstone in a row of brownstones and yet inside, there was a window in the staircase. That couldn't be! That's a shared wall!

+1 I always tried to figure out the floor plan of that house when I was a kid. I'm an architect now.

So many TV houses had this central two-story family/living/great room with stairs in the back and a swinging door into the kitchen, but those rooms never would have actually been in the houses as shown from the outside.

Married With Children
Full House
Cosby Show
Family Matters
(Growing Pains?)

I recall liking this house. Mostly the train.

I'll give some awards for most realistic/best cast:

Sopranos, both the main one and then all the older houses of the lower-tiered types, and Uncle Junior's old shack.

Roseanne

Friday Night Lights (again, like Sopranos, all of them: Talyors', Saracen's grandma's house, Buddy Garrity's house, JD McCoy's McMansion)

Breaking Bad

I like the houses on modern family. Pretty high end but realistic. Jay and Gloria's is a bit over the top, but it's supposed to be.

Speaking of abc, I LOVE the kiddle's house. THERE is realistic. I love how the show designed in the clutter and awkward spaces. And the times their dining room becomes a makeshift guest room. The basement is totally a mess, etc. Its so the class that DH and I grew up in, and our parents continue to be like. We fight it but I see us in that show too. For now

I loved Monica's apartment on Friends although it always bothered me that she was scamming on her dead Grandma's rent controlled property
