You're such a sad individual.

Do you want stories of parents who killed their own children? There are a bunch of those out there. So by your logic no parent should ever be left with a child.

Parents who are at risk of hurting their children DEFINITELY should put their child in daycare, maybe even foster care.

Put down the wine, nutjob.

Touched a nerve.

Daycare is an excellent option for parents who can't manage the challenge of full time parenting. But who exactly is doing the childcare? Are they stable, competent and loving?

The anti-daycare trolls are hilarious

What a snarky thing to say. You do realize most of us HAVE to work and also do an excellent job of raising our children. We aren't in the 1950's anymore.
Also, I am a childcare provider. I love the children in my care and treat them like family. When my daughter was small, I had to work and we used daycare starting at age 1, then preschool. Our providers were kind and loving. The idea that most providers are uncaring is a myth. The worst stories become news- just like the worst parents become news.

There are multiple ways to have a family. Yours is not the best- just the best for you.

The policy is classic conservatism. Work harder and get a better job so your wife can stay home barefoot and pregnant while she sells Towel Charms.

I'm a conservative and I believe er need daycare reform.we give the least societal respect to those who care for the most vulnerable, making the most exponential leaps in learning (yes I'm an educator and a lot happens between 0-3). Infants and small children need to be held, need sensory exploration, need bright clean facilities (not chaos) , need staff who are knowledgeable about their craft and receive PD. Too many daycares are unlicensed or lowstandard. The good ones are cost prohibitive with long waiting lists. Even with vouchers for the very poor, it does not get you in a 'good place' and er know the working poor and middle class are the ones who feel most desperate as they have no assistance/no pull. Both parties need to recognize that two parent workers are the norm fir so many families, and we need daycare reform, to look at some good national models in other countries and to pull out the stops to get all little kids -poor and middle class off to a proper start. If you stay at home, you are also sacrificing often financially. Everyone is paying a price in America with our scandalously low quality day care . Kudos to the high quality daycare and providers - we need to find a way to have more and compensate more.

Well put.

I'd like to see pence address this at the vp debate.

You need help to figure out why you are so angry about other women who work outside the home.

Talking isn't trolling. No one is questioning your choice. We're questioning the bubble you live in.
All over the world, through the ages, women have worked. Only in a few wealthy times and countries have parents been able to choose to stay home. How do you suggest the majority of families pay the ever escalating cost of living? Your individual experience is only yours. Think of all the people you encounter during the day. Do they not deserve children, because they are not wealthy?
Your choice is fine. Great for you. Now, drop the attitude and look beyond your walls. And as a childcare provider myself, I am like an extended family member. My smell isn't something to disdain. You are insulting and rude .

Mike Pence argued in 1997 that "day-care kids get the short end of the emotional stick" and that households with two working parents lead to "stunted emotional growth."

If you really care about this issue you can start here.

Keep in mind however that most children who are in day care centers are from families of middle income and above. Those who are in the lower economic group usually have children that are taken care of by relatives, friends, etc.

Unless your family is all dead or far away. My husband and I were lower income and it was hard.

This isn't always the best placement form the child.
