How many tattoos do you have? Do you think tattoos look sleazy on women?

Just wow. Do you hate all women?

Three tattoos:

1. Representing the birth of child

2. The death of a close friend

3. Fighting (and winning) over a hard illness.

Trashy? maybe. Meaningful - 100%

I don't have any tattoos. I think they *can* look sleazy on both men and women, but so can a shirt or a pair of shoes. Sleazy or not, I just don't like the majority of tattoos I see, but every once in awhile I see one that I think looks attractive. Most of them scream "sheeple" more than anything.

I've never dated a guy with a tattoo, not because I necessarily ruled them out, that's just the way it worked out.

Trashy. I make hiring decisions and a tattoo is an immediate disqualifer no matter how great the candidate. It's simply not the image I want our organization to portray.

I was really upset when my adult daughter got a tattoo. Her body. Her decision. But it just screams trashy. I would never tell her that. I think I bit my tongue in half the day I saw it for the first time.

what kind of mom doesn't instill values in the kids? if you have a strong opinion about something, and you see it in your professional life, how can you not share that with your daughter?

Do you do full body scans and ask candidates to take their clothes off?

You are a repulsive human being.

Your anger and judgement towards others speaks volumes about you, not them.

Me too. PhD, and spouse is an MD. We each have one tattoo in a discrete places (although not boobs or anything like that), although they would be visible if we were on the beach. You'd have no idea if you saw us in our work attire. Surprised how many people are calling them trashy, but oh well. They're meaningful to us, which is why we got inked in the first place.

Spoken by someone without adult kids.

I despise tattoos as well as body piercings (nose, eyebrow, more than one in ears) and any type of hair dyes or manicures/pedicures that are too bright and flashy. The immaturity and ignorance of some people to deliberately destroy their bodies for the sole purpose of attention is disgusting. The topic of tattoos comes up quite often in my group therapy and nearly all of us (at least all of us who refuse to take our medication) agree that such trashy aesthetics are definitely contributing to the steady deterioration of the moral fabric of our society.

Of course not. Smart people know this and don't have visible tattoos.

I think the PP meant visible tattoos.

I don't think they are necessarily inherently trashy, although like any other fashion choice, they CAN look trashy. I simply don't like how the majority of them look, and it doesn't matter if you have a PhD or not. That's just my opinion, since it was asked, which obviously shouldn't matter to you.
