FTM - will I want my mom right away?

She came two days after we got home from the hospital and helped with everything from cooking to laundry and just general upkeep around the house. Having her here really allowed DH and I to focus on the baby. She was also very helpful once DH went back to work and helped assure me that I could do it on my own during those days. Definitely ask her to come and stay as long as she is willing. You won't regret it and will enjoy being able to focus on your little one without worring about other things!

+1 can help with the sleepless nights, all the housework, and actually help you focus more on recovery and baby and not chores. But only if your mom will actually be helpful with the grunt work (mine was) and not expecting to be attended to as well (some do!)

You had a baby not open heart surgery. You don't need more than a month to recover.

I had a 4th degree tear and fractured my tailbone and
was anally incontinent for nearly a year postpartum. I went back
To work in Depends and cried daily from stress of having accidents at work and in front of people, which happened on several
occasions. I could not have sex for over a year and years later it still hurts for me to sit for long periods of time. You have no idea what some women go
Through. No idea at all.
