Gotta say it. I think it's weird and a bit creepy how much name envy you have for your nieces. There are lots a gorgeous names out there. Maybe skip Elyse/Elise AND Margaux and start over. But I don't like Margaux...sounds like a middle aged smoker's name, to me.

Op, did you choose the names first and tell them to your sister only for her to steal them? Otherwise, I don't understand how you can think it is okay to lift BOTH of your niece's names - each unusual and clearly the product of considerable thought by your sister. Especially because you are not close to her, everyone will always think you actually are so crazy and lacking in perspective that you turned the occasion of your daughter's birth into a chance to spite your sister.

Here is a list off the top of my head of names that have no theme. You do not need therapy, but you do need some perspective. You do not like either of these names, you want to piss off your sister. And I get that, I have a problematic sister relationship, too. But all you are doing by obsessing over her daughter's name is strengthening the problems. So let go. You can't use either name.

Nah, she hates her sister so much that she can't even focus on the kid she is carrying and how she deserves better than to be a poor man's version of her cousin. That is batshit crazy. OP needs help. I bet her sister isn't even thinking of her. Nutty obsessions like OP's are always one sided. Sad.

OP here I've liked the names since I was 10 years old. I actually still have the little story I wrote called " Margaux and the Dolphins" It's the only names I've every really liked. When my sister was pregnant I purposely said nothing because I didn't want her to use them. I was pretty upset she used both names I liked, but I couldn't do anything because she got pregnant first.

I'm not spiting anyone. I've always liked those name, and I don't see a good reason why I should have to use names I don't really like just because my sister used them first. If she wants to have a tantrum about it she can.

I don't want to argue with people. Some pps suggested some names that are okay like Eliza and Noelle but my husband doesn't like those. I'm not arguing with anyone. I'm trying to explain things, but some people came in here and decided to be nasty and attack me. I'm not going to allow people to have a go at me without giving it back.
