What movie scenes have stuck with you....

so many good ones here... props to the poster for mentioning The Bad Seed, that movie is just insane.

For me it's the end of The Way We Were, in front of the Plaza all the years later, when Katie says

"your girl is lovely, Hubbell." I'm choked up as I type this.

Also when Affleck realizes he's gone for good at the end. Never change the station when that one's on.

I love that scene.

Also, the fax machine scene in Office Space.

And, the scee at the end of Lincoln where his son is screaming in the theater because they announced that the president has been shot.

WINNER!!! Yes. Every time I use a fax.

Yes. Emma wows in that scene.

Yes, the touch where she fixes the bedspread and you can see her pulling herself together, putting a brave face on for her kids. Brilliant.

Movie "Crash" I think - the little girl jumps up to protect her father from being shot.

Stand by me - at the end, the voice-over about the one boy dying as an adult

This one is so good. They show River Pheonix walking and then he's gone as Richard Dreyfuss is narrating. This is such a fabulous movie. I sincerely hope my kids like it when they are old enough to watch it. I had the soundtrack on vinyl for some reason.

American Beauty where Anette Benning realizes she does love her husband, puts the gun away, and then hugs his clothes in his closet while sobbing.

So much of Reqiuem for a Dream, but mostly the scene at the end where Jennifer Connelly is curled up snuggling her H.

The head-spinning scene in the Exorcist.

There was a time a few years ago when We Are Marshall was in cable every other day. The final scene in that movie, the music, the fact that it was a true story, the era, Matthew McConaughey. I was in tears every time. And I hardly love football.

Love that movie. For me its when the younger daughter, Alice, steps off the cliff after Uncas dies. The blank look on her face as she just goes.

Great movie that inspired a great scene in another movie, Fame, when the girl breaks down at the singing audition and starts speaking the lyrics to The Way We Were (because she really can't sing) . . . and ends up getting accepted to the drama program.

The funeral scene in 4 weddings and a funeral. "He was my north, my south, my east, my west..."
