Why is DC fashion so boring?

Oh please. She does not live in DC, I'm guessing by "its environs" you mean she hangs out in downtown silver spring on saturday nights, which is not the same thing as living in dupont and having to walk to get groceries occasionally.

So I gotta ask- if you dont consider green hair shocking, what exactly would qualify? Given your logic of "anything thats been done before is automatically not shocking", I'm really curious as to what would qualify for shocking.... lol...

Different poster here. You do realize that Montgomery County is about 5 seconds over the DC line and would be considered less hip than DC. So if that's the case, and nobody is looking at her punk fashion cross eyed, then people most likely aren't that upset in DC. Do you get that? I think you are trying to quote different posters? Green hair isn't shocking. I think we can all easily agree on that.

No, you can all CLAIM to think that. I would love to see your actual reaction if someone walked past you dressed in a health goth style with green hair. I know DCUM, and I know that this is all a lot of bluster because if DCUM hates one thing it's anyone who comes on here and doesnt fit into the soccer mom mold.

If this is OP the the irony is that YOU are the one who is doing all the judging. Everyone else is telling you they have no care in the world that your hair is green. Meanwhile you just keep judging and judging. Insisting that people are judging you. You must believe that everyone is against you otherwise you aren't as cool as you think you are. Yawn.

No, I just dont enjoy people who put up a lot of bluster online who wouldnt have that attitude in the real world.

Aunt to MoCo niece here...exactly! My point was that if my niece can walk around Clarksburg without a second glance, the OP can surely manage to walk around Dupont Circle without distressing anyone. LOL!

The OP needs to get over herself. Or not, I don't really care.

OMG, and Clarksburg at that! Not even Silver Spring as OP insisted. Yup, pretty sure if Clarksburg can handle then so can Dupont.

You aren't even making any sense anymore. It's not your thread. It's a thread you started. My kiddies were tucked in hours ago as they should have been. And I don't live in Clarksburg. You young lady are confusing multiple posters. I think the fact that you are responding to every single poster shows your self-involvement. Hate to tell you but most people here would disagree with the things you have said. You can be belligerent about that. I can't stop you. I would think you would take be happy that people are cool with you and your amazing fashion sense. But to think you can peg everyone's lives simply because they don't agree with you?? Really? But of course if we don't agree with you we must all be old, uncool hags. If we agree with you then we must be super duper beautiful fashionistas with fabulous pastel hair. But I keep coming back to why is a 26 year old super duper cool fashionista posting on a mom's website??

There are several people responding, OP (why, I'm not sure, but maybe for some perverse entertainment value). I'm the aunt, not the PP...and I actually live in Prince George's County. Come visit us with your badass hair!

OP, your tone and attitude match that of the woman who posted about not wanting to tell her baby's father about his baby, are you the same person? You have a complete inability to listen to ideas that do not parrot your own.

I'm being belligerent because youve been a total douche, trying to invalidate my personal experiences of having green hair, basically accusing me of lying about people's reactions which is just such a bizarre accusation. And since I'm assuming youve never had free hair yourself, I'm kind of baffled as to why you would think you're SUCH an authority on it? In my opinion I hit some kind of trigger with you by saying people were shocked by my hair color- maybe you think people who think others are shocked by their actions are egotistical and you're trying to take them down a peg? You think it's your duty to humble them? I'm not exactly sure, but it's certainly a bizarre and totally unhelpful response to my question.
