Are these cute or butt?

OP, you might want to check out Madewell's sandal selection: https://www.madewell.com/madewell_category/SHOESANDSANDALS/sandals.jsp

In particular, the Criss-cross Sightseer and the Camille might work for you.

TIA!

They are not cute. Try kork ease Ava sandals. They are a wedge but very comfortable. Also look at brands like camper or geox or gentle souls or ones. My last suggestion is to go to nordstrom and get help from a salesperson.

But also I don't care that much - I wear what I like, and what I like is somewhat clompy shoes that I can walk for miles and miles and miles in. I wear a lot of clogs. I'm sure you'd hate those, too.

Go to the Shoe Hive, they have a great selection of comfy and stylish shoes! They will help you and you def. need it.

Thanks for the rec. I like Shoe Hive ok for getting dressy shoes, but they're too...Tory Burch for my tastes for everyday shoes, if that makes sense. I'm not an upper middle class mom, don't care to look like one. Upper middle class moms look great, but I'd look stupid dressed up like that for my actual life. I feel pretty comfortable with my own taste, but I appreciate your concern.

Anonymous wrote:I get where the "hipster" comparison is coming from. The ones OP posted have a very Normcore/crunchy festival kind of look, depending on the context. But that falls flat when you're over 30.

It's hard to find something sleek and cute that still offers decent support and comfort.

These seem to have more support than the typical sandal.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse.

OP doesn't want heels or wedges, and needs something with some padding, clearly, not just those super-flat Sam Edelmans or Tory Burches everyone wears. So what do you suggest?

I have these and wear them around for walking the dog, etc.

They are insanely comfortable - and while I find them to be utterly hideous (almost ridiculously so, though redeemingly comfortable) I get compliments on them all the time, from both men and women:

I have them in the ugliest possible color, too - that weirdo silver. Got them on 6pm.com for about $60. There are more color options there on Zappos.

This is too much heel for OP, and too much of the 1970s for the rest of us.

This is OP. I am resurrecting this thread to say you all will be relieved to know I did not get the "butt" Dr Scholl's sandals. I got these instead, and I hope they meet with your approval (not really). But thanks for saving me from the Dr Scholls, although I do still think they're kind of hipster.

Thanks to PP for the link. I haven't received them yet, so I hope they're comfy.

I am not 80 but I would never let these touch my feet.

Thank you for posting an update. I will sleep better knowing you aren't parading around town in those hideous sandals.
