Are these cute or butt?

I'm also 44 and if I wore those, I'd feel like I'd thrown in the towel completely. They look like footwear for the elderly.

What does butt mean? I'm guessing ugly, in which case they are BUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTT! Anyi Lu Linda on Zappos makes a very cute sandal. Don't know how to copy.

These look old lady too. And $385? What! In fact, most of the suggestions look just as "butt" as OP's, if not more. The gray Merrell's...yuck! Look like something a tourist would wear on the mall. The "Melissa Etheridge" ones... ew. Very lesbian (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I actually am liking the original link more and more. Cute... and I like the slight platform. The black and white ones are def the best. The other colors... not so much.

They look like they came from the old lady side of aerosoles.

I am 43 and I like them. I like chunky sandals. I should say that my 6 yr old often describes my soes as old ladyish. You should go with what you like and what looks good on you. Own it!

Those shoes are terrible. Unless you spend your time walking from the farmers market to rei.

I don't like the pink but the black with the dots is cute and would look good with the right outfits.

They're not the most stylish, but they're cute and they look comfortable.

OP, they would probably look ok with the right maxi dress, but I can't picture them looking good with anything else. I do have some super cute Dr. Scholl shoes, so I agree with you that they have some cute styles. I get tons of compliments on mine.

I stick with Born and B.O.C. for this type of shoe Sometimes LifeStride and Naturalizer too. These are my favorite shoes this summer. They actually look a lot cuter in person. So comfy and I can wear them with almost anything.

Awful! I may not be the most stylish woman around, but I'd stay a mile away from those shoes, OP!

I think they're ugly, but if they are as comfortable as you say, that trumps ass ugly!

I think they're heinous. I don't like thick sandals in general, but (a) the pink is atrocious and (b) the flat straps are really unflattering. Shudder.

Didn't your mama's teach you...it's not about comfort, it's about fashion! Come on now.
Anonymous
The straps are too wide...I would do a flat T-strap sandal, but that may not be comfy enough for you.

They'd look awesome with a fanny pack.

I also vote horrible. Really, truly horrible.

I'd go with Birkenstocks over these, and I am no birkenstock fan.

There was a thread a while ago about comfy sandals with some decent suggestions - I actually bought a pair of Sam Edelman's from that thread (on sale now).
