CM lottery

Do you know if they got a call today? Or if that was just DCUM rumor?

By 7pm they had not received a call.

I think that if they had called, we'd hear about it here. When I asked thy said they called so that people would have a week to decide before the deadline. I can't imagine the deadline to accept would be on the weekend, so I suspect that they will call on Monday and have the deadline to accept a week later.

Why is the deadline before the deadline for the common lottery?

Anyone know if they had spots for K? If so, how many?

This was answered upthread.

OMG, someone noted Old Soldiers home??? a few blocks from my house and only 19 spots open. this will taunt me. all these great charters within walking or short driving from my house that I can't get in. For my first kid I was like #300 on every list. I'm hoping my second has better luck.

If they end up at the old soldiers home....got to be kidding me.

more spots could open for all grades if they move from 16th street to Petworth. H8 bus will take you straight over (about 20 minutes) but no metro.

This is not true. They did a charter size expansion specifically to limit the size of the school. Because of the model of the program, it needs to have small class sizes.

Couldn't more room mean additional classes that are still small?

so the family you know who got in did NOT receive a call on Saturday - so there is still hope for another day = or another if the sow comes

I suspect PP and I know the same person--and the person I know did not get a call.

They would have to get DCPCSB to approve.

I asked about this and they said they aren't going to add classes -- for the time being, they are 2 classes per grade. They do not want to expand too quickly. But they did get permission to add two students per grade so there should be some room. And of course if they move some families might not join them.

Good luck everyone. It is killing me that they are not posting the results online.

So since they added 2 spces per grade- why did they not have 2 spaces per grade open for the lottery?
