no it hasn't. virigina has become sorta purplish post 9/11 after a massive influx of federal dollars that skyrocketed Nova the nova population. When the population came, other companies also relocated to tap into the 'knowledge worker' base thereby increasing influx of non-viriginians to VA.

Without 9/11, VA does not turn purple because nova doesn't become so overcrowded and blue.

Nice fallacy. Northern Virginia's population and economy has been growing since WWII. But nice try there. You can pull the census data yourself, if you like.

rate of growth was MUCH different. pre and post 9/11
we have the census data. You are talking out of your ass.

Here's what UVA has to say:

http://statchatva.org/2012/11/13/virginia-population-projections/

NoVA 2000-2010 pop growth rate was 24%, far outpacing the rest of the state and that growth accounted for HALF of the overall VA pop growth rate from 2000-2010.

you are seriously going to tell me the census data show that 1950-1960, 1960-1970, 1970-1980, 1980-1990, 1990-2000 growth rates are anywhere near that 24% for NoVA?

please back that up.

Yes, using the definitions provided by the Cooper Center, the source for this:

http://www.coopercenter.org/sites/default/files/node/13/Northern_Region_CooperCenter.pdf

And the US Census data by city/county available here: http://www.coopercenter.org/demographics/virginia-population-estimates

The growth rates are as follows:

1960-70: 48.9%
1970-80: 19.9%
1980-90: 33.6%
1990-2000: 25.3%
2000-2010: 24.2%

You can do the math over if you would like.

Oops I accidentally included PG.

The correct numbers are:

1960-70: 49.1%
1970-80: 20.8%
1980-90: 34.1%
1990-2000: 25.4%
2000-2010: 24.2%

1. Illegal aliens are here illegally.(This contradicts itself, should be Illegal aliens, being lawbreakers, should be held accountable for breaking the law)
2. Pro-domestic employment is indispensable.(um duh?)
3. A strong military is essential.(If modernized, the military could be done on a smaller budget assuming their mission statement was downgraded to half a war)
4. Special interests must be eliminated.(not sure how you accomplish this without infringing on the right to petition the government)
5. Gun ownership is sacred.(the second amendment already covers this)
6. Government must be downsized.(true, the federal government is about 7 times larger than it should be)
7. The national budget must be balanced.(this would actually harm the economy with our current monetary system, you would need to implement a gold standard first)
8. Deficit spending must end.(see number 7)
9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal.(while definitely not the best of plans, they were authorized by congress. This is a non-starter)
10. Reducing personal income taxes is a must.(while numerically the tax rates are low, the burden is higher. Our tax rates are half what they were in 1970, however inflation means we have to make 6 times more money in 2013 versus 1970 for the same standard of living)
11. Reducing business income taxes is mandatory.(taxes are a cost of doing business. A company can no more pay taxes than the land your house is sitting on can pay "property" taxes)
12. Political offices must be available to average citizens.(???)
13. Intrusive government must be stopped.(While their is certainly overreach at the federal level, this statement is far too broad to have meaning)
14. English as our core language is required.(this would be better stated as English as an official language, having a common language allows the country to function better)
15. Traditional family values are encouraged.(there is only one way to form a family, this statement is redundant)

So, with which ones do you have a problem? I have to say, these are pretty reasonable to me.

Just curious...... there is no "The Tea Party" there are a number of tea parties. So, your list of beliefs is a little questionable.

False dichotomy. Red and Blue are on the same team ... They only differ on fringe issues. They both love big spending, support corporations over citizens, are war mongers, ... I could go on. But ya'll keep arguing back and forth with each other all you like ... It keeps you from noticing the obvious truth of what I say.
