Agreed - especially since this is exactly the type of things my MIL and FIL would do. LAst Christmas they threw away a bunch of my daughter's toys claiming the package had been stolen from their house. Only when I filed a police report did they confess - they decided my beautiful wooden imaginative play toys were too boring and substituted it all for some plastic crap with frozen stickers on it. We made it clear that this would be the last Christmas at their house. Some people are just controlling and crazy. She probably thought she was doing you a favor.

They threw out brand-new toys from you without your child ever seeing them? Wow, that takes the cake!

And she's always telling me to use a new sponge bc the one in the sink is dirty, etc, even if I've only been using it for a day (and that she does throw out and open a new one). But the mugs are too much! I would've been so pissed! But I honestly would not know what to do, other than make it clear that I do not trust her. I'm glad your DH let her know she crossed a line.

Sponges are disgusting. They harbor bacteria. If they've been sitting out over night, then they have bacteria.

Do you use a new sponge every day?

NP. I never use sponges. Nasty!

How do you handwash dishes?

I rarely handwash. And when I do I use a paper towel. Barkeepers friend if I need to scrub.

Yup. They didn't care how much we spent on the toys, how much thought went into it, and how much the kids would like the toys. They knew better (or so they think) and just tossed them. Glad I told them I filed a police report.

Why, because I am lazy and like to use my dishwasher?
