My Pyrex totally exploded, 'twas a bummer as it was filled with butter.

We have OLD pie plates. For china and dinnerware and mugs most companies outsource the manufacturing and slop their name on it. http://www.hlcdinnerware.com/genuinemanufacturer Meanwhile there is a brand made in the USA called Homer Laughlin-besides fiestaware it makes many other products. Crate and barrel carries glasses made in the USA [plus poland, france, italy etc] in addition to china http://www.crateandbarrel.com/working-glasses-and-lid/f1693

Just remember that while the action was over the top,it came from a place of love and caring. Set the boundaries you need to set.

I thought you "took away her key"?

Go to her house and throw away something. It will feel liberating.

Tell her you just sprayed bug killer outside and it's not safe to use the sidewalk. Ever.

My MIL keeps making snarky remarks about how I need new pots and pans because of teflon coating (none of them are teflon, she just doesn't understand the difference). And she's always telling me to use a new sponge bc the one in the sink is dirty, etc, even if I've only been using it for a day (and that she does throw out and open a new one). But the mugs are too much! I would've been so pissed! But I honestly would not know what to do, other than make it clear that I do not trust her. I'm glad your DH let her know she crossed a line.

I assume that OP's MIL was visiting for the holidays. Was she supposed to be confined to the yard or something?
