If a cause of death has not been determined, it's perfectly understandable for the local community to wonder if there's a killer out there. |
Last meal. What would you pick as a last meal? Especially if you had the (probably) limited funds of a high school kid? |
| I don't see this thread as a freak show. I think it very tame as far as anonymous internet forums go. It is just people putting the information out there, it's gonna come out anyway. The doughnuts, I think people are over thinking it. Probably the kids just wanted some doughnuts. |
| I agree that this thread is not crossing lines. This is an anonymous public forum and a death has occurred in the area with no explanation yet. Of course people will speculate. They are scared, upset and this is an outlet to talk about it. Its also an outlet to communicate what some know and others do not. |
I'm the PP of this comment and I just want to clarify: I have no way of knowing if he committed suicide and I don't presume anything about his cause of death. This comment was just in reply to those who are speculating it was suicide but are confused by the fact that if it was, why he bought donuts. This has been bothering me; I didn't want it to come across as I believe he committed suicide since I do not know the facts of his case. But if it WAS suicide, that would be my explanation for the donuts. |
| I just feel that if the police had any suspicion there was foul play, they would announce that and have the public on alert. Or I would HOPE they would. The circumstances are odd, though. The whole thing has everyone rattled. Hope they find out what happened soon and close the case for hope of peace for the family. |
I tend to agree. If there was suspicion of homicide, that's a matter of public record and it would have to be publicized, or at least filed as such in public records. It is possible, in theory, given that we don't know (reliably; all we have are rumors, really) the condition or position of the body when it was discovered, that this was an accident or an illness. Unlikely, but possible. Frankly, if we don't hear of a public record of some sort, I think it reasonable to conclude suicide. Not definitively, but I would tend to think that. |
| Why is it taking so long to determine the cause of death? Why haven't the police issued any statements at all? Knowing the how or why will not bring Bryan back, but it would help a restless and fearful community move on, not to mention the dear family. |
You spelled nosy wrong. |
They have addressed whether the community should be fearful. This was in the Washington Post: “While the investigation is continuing, there doesn’t appear to be any threat to the public at this point,” Fairfax County police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said. |
Wow. Don't you have homework to do? |
I'm too restless and fearful to do homework! Just on pins and needles waiting to hear exactly what happened to this poor boy because the police are selfishly not telling anyone who isn't the family anything! |
You yourself are mired in this conversation, Nosy Parker. Sorry, I spelled that wrong. Should have been "hypocrite." |

Update. "No Predator on the Loose, Cause of Bryan's Death Could Take Months to Determine." |

Please-respect Bryan, his family and friends. Our concern needs to be for them, not for our own questions. Speculation only adds to their anguish.
To Bryan's loved ones, my heart goes out to you in this most difficult time. Having lost my younger brother unexpectedly when he was just 20, I know all too well what how painful this is. I just hope that some good comes of all this and that you find peace in the love of others in the community. |
