Could a waitlisted family sign up for the tours? If so, do we call the school directly? TIA!

Don't think so but call. We were only offered a tour after we got off the wait list.

That's what I thought. Thanks!

I heard the tours were being offered to those near the top of the wait list as well as admitted families

You might learn as much or more by going to the Springfest tomorrow. You could meet actual families, get a sense of the community, see how they support Chinese at home, find out about commutes and carpools, see if there's anything you can do to help prepare your child to enter the school, etc. And you'll probably have a lot of fun, too.

Question: Has the PreK waitlist moved any more? Has anyone received a call recently. I remember earlier that people advised that it started moving again in late summer?

I just gave up our Pre-K spot today...it was a tough decision.

There may be some movement coming up but right now the school is in the middle of moving and I don't think they're updating the list.

Was an update just posted to the WL? I'm watching it not for our family (our son is in), but for one of my son's former DCPS classmates. It seems like he moved up a few spaces, but maybe my memory of where he was last time is faulty.

Looks the same to me as the update on June 8th. I think there must have been movement but no updated WL posted on line. Signs of movement are other DCUM threads discussing, e.g., Janney vs. YY was a recent one.

It looks like there's been a big move in the PK waitlist in the past day or two...

Yes, 9 spots I think.

Looks like 9 kids admitted from the top of the preK list.

Surprise to me is that no one (almost) has dropped off the list. That probably means no one has called to give up the wait list spot (e.g., got into JKLMM, never going to say yes to YY, please delete me)

I suspect that this simply hasn't occurred to folks (particularly since the 9 that were just admitted started out in the 40s or so on the waitlist--I could see thinking there's no hope & no point). For my part, I haven't called to give up our coveted spot in the 300s on the CapCity waitlist, despite having accepted at another school.

My kid is now under 10 on the waitlist. We were in the teens, but a last week got a call asking if we still wanted to be on the waitlist (YES!). So, I'm guessing that either the kids ahead of us were enrolled, or their parents declined to stay on the waitlist. Fingers crossed...

I'm almost certain that you'll get in. I know 2 families that have yu ying spots that will likely be giving them up. There are probably more as well.
