The teacher basically told the kids it was a fluff project. That’s how I came to my conclusion. |
Yes - $100 for 2 colonial costumes. Kids are doing a skit on one of the US History topics. Yes - a BS fluff assignment over the holiday weekend. |
So you would prefer a couple of extension units and tests? It is better to do homework and study than work on projects during the last few weeks of school? Personally, I agree with you. But most students do not. |
How infuriating! At least we don’t have to spend money. |
No that’s how YOU are interpreting what the teacher said as relayed to you secondhand by your son. Because you don’t think it benefits your “good” kid. |
A request to spend that type of money is a problem. But why is a skit, presumably seeking to bring an aspect of history to life, a b.s. assignment? Maybe this type of assignment helps kids engage with the subject matter and retain knowledge. Or is it only worth doing if it contributes to the grade on the AP exam? |
You are not required to purchase a costume. That is insane. You could find something to make do. |
You can keep posting your nonsense but at this point you’ve been tuned out. Good day. |
Of course it’s not required but it’s easier to purchase than have to make something. |
I’m the costume person. 100% easier to order a costume off Amazon than try to find stuff/buy little things to make up a costume. |
I bet you don't compare prices at the grocery store either. Or read a menu from right to left. |
How do you still have time be posting here OP, I thought you and your kid had this massive fluff project that will take him hours hanging over your heads this weekend? |
| Yes, the end of year projects are costing money for supplies. Posterboard, thin markers, colored pencils, card stock, etc. It added up to $68 fast. |
