Is this due right after the break? How much class time did they have to work on this? |
So you're really just crying about one assignment ruining your kid's 5 day weekend. |
| If there is time for internships, there is time to end the school year early. The calendar is broken. |
| At our school most projects are listed on the syllabus for the entire school year. There are very few surprises that come up the week of a project. |
|
I used to have a neighbor who would come over and talk about all the homework her son had to do all the time. When the kid graduated, he never went to college. Lived in the basement for 7 years. Long story short, the parents moved away in hopes that they could get him a new start someplace. Story unfinished.
The lesson: don’t baby your kids, or they’ll grow up to babies. |
How is this relevant? |
The lesson: some people just want to insert anecdotes into any conversation. |
+1 it’s not lol. |
It doesn’t matter. It’s a grade booster project that my kid doesn’t need. My kid worked their butt off all year and doesn’t need a bs project period. My kid needs the holiday to relax. |
I doubt your kid needs to put multiple full days in to this assignment. There will be plenty of time for relaxing. |
It’s hanging over our heads for the break. And yes it will be time consuming. |
Why are you so hell bent on denying our experience? You can’t accept that there are truly bs projects being assigned? |
Then it doesn't sound like BS. It sounds like they will be expected to spend time and effort on it a thoughtful project. |
Why is it hanging over your head? It isn’t your project. |
Because it interferes with any travel plans we wanted to do. |
