My American born kids do not speak their heritage language and care much about the culture. They are like typical American kids that do sports, and play all day. We are in a white & jewish dominated ES in 20878, and it has been challenging for me to blend with other families. My kids also go through challenges with friendships because it is mostly parent driven at these ages. I am easy going person that is open to all race and religion.

I have thoughts about it occassionally that if my kids go to Asian dominated ES, that may be a different story. My kids do not understand what other Asian kids speak in their heritage languages, but those Asian kids and parenys tend to ne more friendly to us because we all look the same. For friendship, I would say Asian kids tend to be less drama and parents love to promote harmony.

Not all Asian families are nice because I have come across some Asian families are rude to Asian families and favor non Asian families only. My kid attend cub scout & girl scout which are white dominated, and I have come across some Asian families do not want themselves to be associated with other Asian families. They just try to blend in the American culture so hard that they probably do not care too much about their roots.

There are lots of different types within racial groups. What you describe applies to other racial groups too (just replace everywhere you wrote “Asian” with a different racial group in your post, and it would be true).

I’ve lived in many different communities and a community that resembles the United Nations is less likely to have racial issues. When it’s dominated by a group, there will be the shortcomings that come along with that group.
