Hopkins is an ED2 safety. It’s like Chicago. Duke, Penn, and all other Ivies don’t have ED2. I wonder why? |
| Would love to see some weight given to student satisfaction after graduation. This is an important metric that most here simply brush aside…. |
Because it isn’t an important metric. |
Emory is fine and so is WashU. The school thats most precarious is Georgetown. The t25 with the lowest endowment. |
What does that have to do with top rankings exactly? It has higher freshman stats than Duke, Penn, and most other ivies. |
And unlike most ivies, it is test required and does not consider legacy. Should be and does have a high academic reputation for a reason |
Have you been on campus? It's a bore and surrounding neighborhood is dangerous. |
I concur. Note that U.S. News did sponsor such a survey of recent alumni in one year and the results were weighted in its rankings. |
But Georgetown is one of the schools that shows how off USNews is. A tougher admit than 1/2 the schools on this list, and super prestigious for what it does. Once it adopts the common app, its acceptance rate will be well into the single digits — without ED. At a certain point you have to listen to kids (who are very prestige-conscious) and how they are voting with their feet. |
It just went test required again starting with Fall 2026 applications. Hopkins has only had like 54% of admits submitting while the Ivy schools that are TO are in the 80% range (and I think they all are back to test required). |
Hopkins is a great school but, come on, we all know it is not top 10. |
lol idiotic troll. keep living in the 90s |
This. Pretty sure he will be weighing in any day with his dictate on what the rankings should be - or off with their heads! |
you just made a bunch or stuff up but good try. hopkins is 68% test submitted: https://oira.jhu.edu/wp-content/uploads/CDS_2024-2025_JHU-2.pdf cornell was 58% with other ivies similar. Yale (you can submit AP scores instead of sat/act), princeton, columbia remain test optional. nice try though |
