My kid goes to Chicago and is a physics major. Trust me, there is nothing “meh” about the academics there. Getting a rigorous education and peers are top notch. I have no idea if it’s a #6 school, a #15 school or a #50 school. I am just telling you it is not for the academically weak.

The only reason to have ED2 is to get a second shot at top students who didn't choose you ED1.

DC has two friends who turned down Harvard for Stanford and Princeton. Engineering and CS major. They didn’t like Harvard’s campus and how far away the new science and engineering center is in Allston.

DP. Duke, JHU, Emory, Vanderbilt, UVA have some full merit scholarships worth $400k for full pay families.
