What's the best way to avoid these stupid police checkpoints?

Anonymous
Anyone know how many have been arrested and how many cars have been impounded?

They are arresting a lot of people. They stopped some Fox talking head the other day but he was quickly allowed to go once he told them who he was.

Where?

You would think Bret Baier has blue tooth. Maybe he was texting while driving. I see everyone doing that crashing into cars..

Bullshhh. This is not a law. No one has to prove they are a citizen. Just let them try it with me. My family goes back to the freakin mayflower.

Pretty tough talk from someone so unlikely to be challenged on this.

They wave Karens through.

Move your sorry self out of DC now. Go to Chicago. ASAP.

Yes everyone(not just the driver) has to show ID and proof of citizenship. A real ID is not proof of citizenship. You also have to give a reason why you are traveling- where you are going, who you are meeting, where you are coming from, address of employer, etc. They can impounded your car and take your phone if ICE or Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

I just passed through a checkpoint 45 minutes ago on NY Ave NE and none of what you described happened.

You’re either lying, or really super misinformed.

Daily reminder that you don’t have to show proof of citizenship if you’re a citizen. We live in a free country

So in DC now we have to travel with papers. We are truly in a Gestapo state.

If you’re driving a car, it’s not unreasonable to assume you’d have your drivers license, registration, and proof of insurance with you.

What is unreasonable about that?

Ok, so what are we actually expected to have on us to prove we are citizens if we get stopped as part of one of these?
