Should we talk about how the DC Council has two seats reserved for members who are not from the majority party. But really it’s just two additional Democrats who register as independent. This is a threat to democracy in plain sight, yet never a word…. |
Can anyone shed some light on his professional experience. His bio makes vague references to being a lawyer and political appointee who gave it all away to be an unpaid ANC commissioner. Does anyone have any idea how he’s made a living the past four decades? |
GW bottom half of class. International Human Right public interest firm. Then fed gobernment lawyer. Then to unknown international trade firm. Just another 100% mediocre, financially unsuccessful, self-hating, white leftist. |
He’s not a native Washingtonian. |
Would suggest that you look at ANC precincts that have been affected by policies promoted by Frumin. Crime in ANC 3F, for example, from 22-25 (roughly overlapping with Frumin’s tenure) is up more than 30 percent compared to the previous 3 years.
This is according to DC govt data. https://crimecards.dc.gov/all:crimes/all:weapons/3:years/in:ANC:3F Other precincts track similarly in the Connecticut Ave corridor most affected by these policies. Importantly, this is at a time when crime decreased elsewhere in DC. Check your own Ward 3 ANC precinct and see how it scores. |
He was a DC attorney. |
He was sworn in Jan 2023, so including 2022 data is silly. And there was nothing the council did legislatively on crime in 2023, so you are looking at 2024 legislation which would have taken effect earlier this month or Jan 1 at the earliest. |
What a dumb post. ANC's have zero influence or crime or any policies generally. ANC's can influence the tone around zoning and liquor license applications but ultimately don't even decide those. Oh and Frumin was briefly an ANC Commissioner in 3E so his non influential stint as an ANC Commissioner most definitely didn't influence a neighborhood he didn't represent. |
But wait, I'm told that every time there's a bike lane on the table it absolutely must be installed because "a majority of ANC commissioners in the area support it" (even though the vast majority of these commissioners run unopposed and have nothing even remotely close to a mandate). That sounds like influence to me. |
Ward 3 ANCs were very involved with attempting to prop up the embarrassing BLM/Police Reform era in DC. This misguided effort became a national embarrassment that set DC statehood back years. This is Frumins constituency. https://anc3c.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/ANC3C-Resolution-2021-012-in-Support-of-Proposals-by-DC-Police-Reform-Commission-Report-1.pdf |
if ANC's had the power, there would be bike lanes. Ergo... |
You mean supporting proposals literally from the DC police reform commission? |
Yes, the Commission that issued a report calling to “decenter” the police in public safety (aka, defund). Why on earth would our ANC support that dumpster fire? |
You're right, there are zero bike lanes in the city that sit empty for hours per day. My mistake. |
Lol. It passed unanimously. And saying decenter means defund is disingenuous. You certainly aren't arguing in good faith. |
