ANC's can influence the tone around zoning and liquor license applications but ultimately don't even decide those.

Oh and Frumin was briefly an ANC Commissioner in 3E so his non influential stint as an ANC Commissioner most definitely didn't influence a neighborhood he didn't represent.[/quote]

But wait, I'm told that every time there's a bike lane on the table it absolutely must be installed because "a majority of ANC commissioners in the area support it" (even though the vast majority of these commissioners run unopposed and have nothing even remotely close to a mandate). That sounds like influence to me.
