Something tells me that you will be fine. Imagine being a Muslim in these United States right now. Now that group will face even more Islamophobia and harassment. It’s not all about you OP.

L. O. L. Jews face more hate crimes in the United States than Muslims by ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE and always have, including right after 9/11. There is this persistent myth that Islamophobia is more of a threat and that’s simply, verifiably BS. Ask yourself honestly whether, in 2025 in America, Muslims who send their kids to Muslim schools have to worry that they will be attacked by a Jewish extremists. Now ask yourself the same question in reverse. Literally a couple weeks ago in Rockville, a man named Joseph Amr Khairy Abdalla was arrested outside a Jewish school with a knife. And when he was apprehended, he complained that the cops were “beating an Arab guy.” Give me a f-ing break.

People only like Jews when they are completely helpless, vulnerable, or dead. And Jews are just not willing to be any of those things anymore. Israelis are simply not going to see thousands of their civilians slaughtered in cold blood, kidnapped and taken hostage and just sit back and take it. No matter what the antisemites of the world have to say about it. We literally do not care anymore.

The number of people on here essentially saying “we think Khamenei should have nukes because Israel is the bad guy” tells you all you need to know. For the record, I am both Iranian and Jewish and have faced far far FAR more bigotry and hate in my life for the latter, despite most people assuming I am Muslim when I tell them I’m Iranian.

100 %

Jews, please stop looking to these Jew haters to validate your fears and concerns. These people could not care less if every Jew died tomorrow.

If we were in the middle of WWII, these same people would be moaning about the poor Germans and how Jews were kind of causing trouble in Europe, and weren't the Roma really asking for it?

Buck up. Look elsewhere for understanding. It ain't on DCUM.

+1. This was my first thought when I read OP. It’s not all about you and you have the ability to make that clear by articulating you don’t support this. If more American Jews did this, it would impact the conversation.

But Muslims don’t have that luxury.

Muslims could speak up about Hamas and Iran. and it would have exactly the same influence on Islamophobia as speaking up about Gaza does on antisemitism. That is, zero.

We’ve been through this before. groups that are subject to animus have zero responsibility to declare themselves the “Good Ones” in order to be free from prejudice and hate crimes. It doesn’t work, and it’s not fair. This is exactly the same for antisemitism and Islamophobia and we learned this lesson after 9/11.

Muslims could also speak out against Islamic terror, the motivating force behind the ME terror regimes and groups. That would demonstrate that mainstream Muslims in the U.S. are cut from different cloth. But they don't say anything, why?

Should also be Jews responsible for speaking out against the genocide and ethnic cleansing Israel is committing?

That is literally what this thread is trying to do and the response has been “Jews make everything about themselves.” Because of antisemitism. That is a nakedly antisemitic viewpoint.

For some of you posters, breathing is antisemitism.

Please describe, in detail, why you think “Jews make everything about themselves” is not an antisemitic viewpoint. I’ll wait.

Israel attacks Iran. Jews immediately post about fear of antisemitism. They are the aggressor just like the US now but want to play the part of the victim. The person who said they use it as a get out of jail free card is onto the problem. Why don't you wait till something actually happens before you appeal to other's instincts to help you? Already most Americans are overwhelmed with the news that we are brought into this mess and most want out. We are too busy working to get our own government out of the conflict and deal with the people actually suffering physically to deal with your mental anguish. I don't have time for your fake victimhood saying that people are antisemitic because they don't agree with Israel or don't invite you to dinner anymore. Maybe they are being antisemitic but it's an appropriate response to the aggression. There are plenty of other groups that people display negativity towards. Anti-women, anti trans, anti gay, anti-white men, anti-blacks, anti-immigrant, anti-Palestinian. Unless there is an actual real threat to life I don't want to hear about it and am extremely upset we are now involved in yet another war placing the DC area in danger.

The entire point is Jews who have nothing to do with any of this are getting blamed. You do know that Jews already face the majority of hate crimes, right? https://www.marketwatch.com/story/jewish-people-make-up-2-4-of-the-u-s-population-but-are-the-targets-of-about-60-of-hate-crimes-linked-to-religion-says-fbi-director-2dd86906

Nobody buys that, kemosabe.

Just because the ADL pushes false data doesn’t mean anyone is buying it …

Hate crimes are abhorrent anyway, regardless the victim’s identity. But cut the shit that Jewish Americans are the most targeted victim’s of anything.

There’s not a single Jewish American alive who would agree to trade places with a black, Latino or LBGT person for even an hour …

lol you do know that Jews may have multiple identities right? I for one am “LGBT.” I agree what’s happening to trans folks is awful right now, the difference is that people actually call it out. People don’t want to see the antisemitism happening around them.

Oh and the stats in that article aren’t from the ADL. They’re from the FBI.

I think a lot of wars are fought because people think god is on their side, no matter the religion. Jews aren’t helped by the chosen people narrative.

It’s not that religion is the direct cause. It’s that the elite use religion as a way to get poor people to fight their wars for them. So, here we are arguing about what’s anti-religion, when that’s not the root cause.

Jews are an ethnic group (well technically three separate ethnic groups with Ashkenazi being the predominant group in the US). It’s not about religion.

I think therein lies the problem. While there are other "ethnoreligious" groups -- an ethnic group solely based on religion -- the Jewish one is the most prominent and I believe the only one to have its own state/country.

I don't believe Jews should be treated any differently than any other religious group (Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, etc.) IMHO.

Navajo, Cherokee etc -- i.e. every Indian reservation in the US is based on ethnoreligous grouping. Do you think they should be abolished?

BYW -- other ethnoreligious groups would LOVE to have self-governance like the Jews do. Just ask the Kurds, the Yazidis, the Maoris etc.

But I guess it's fine that there are more than 22 Muslim countries in the Middle East, dozens of Christian Countries in the world. That doesn't bother you. Only when Jews do it. Got it.

That is completely untrue. Most people here are intelligent, and they know their Jewish friends and coworkers aren't getting targeted physically on a daily basis. They know they mostly have money to live in safer neighborhoods than the typical American. Americans have been excellent supporters of Jews compared to support in other countries and have always backed any antisemitism that creates casualties. It's the Jewish homeland that is causing issues in the middle east and it's an American's right to be upset at the money flowing to Israel and the potential backlash of being in a war. Look to Israel as to why there is an increased amount of antisemitism. No typical American asked for this and even the people I know that hated Trump were happy he didn't want to start a new war. Stop pretending that just because people here don't like Israel's actions that somehow, we have it in for the Jews and want them dead. If you really think that all this tells me is that your news is extremely biased and fake and you are just as clueless as those that follow media like Fox News.

We don’t worry because we don’t belong to any synagogues or go to demonstrations. But there hasn’t been anything major in terms of people getting killed. You should worry more about Israelis and Palestinians. They are in real danger.

DP

Sure.

But Iran has been funding terror groups in multiple regions for quite some time. There are consequences for such things.

And now that the US has been dragged into it, it’s reasonable to worry about America and Americans—whether on American soil or abroad.

I wonder how Trump will navigate this…

While he’s big on retribution, he and his advisors probably didn’t see this coming.

The U.S. was not dragged into it. Trump and Miller have been itching for this fight. He wanted to invade Iran the first time around but we had sensible people at the pentagon.

Disagree.

I’m super liberal and can’t think of anything positive to say about Trump, but nonetheless I do not believe he was itching for war. Everything he has said and done—and everything his administration planned for over the last handful of years—pointed to isolationism and avoiding war.

Oh. So what, you think Trump was hypnotized by evil Zionists to bomb America’s friend, Iran?

I know right? They're trying to convert everyone to Judaism, make people keep kosher, force everyone to speak Hebrew.... enough is enough! Jews are taking over the world! So many of them! Infiltrating. Do you have, perchance, a "solution?"

People can see that antisemitism exists. They simply don't see it around every corner, in every statement that makes you uncomfortable, or in every critism of Israel. Antisemitism is real. It is also really used as a tool by Israel to manipulate and justify heinous things, and people are frankly tired of being manipulated by claims of antisemitism.

I'm black and I hear people say the same about claims of racism, and it stings. It feels like people don't care or don't want to see it. I find that often, people unaffected by the issue in question, do not understand it's complexity. I think discussion of both issues is more effective when the tone is one of education rather than chatisement and judgement, particularly when the action or statement in question was not actually maliciously intended.

I'm sorry that you're feeling unsafe. A lot of us share that feeling today, for a variety of reasons.

I never understood Jewish support for Trump. He admires Hitler, has shared beliefs and rhetoric, and followed the same playbook. He hired white supremacists and they were his base. Why would you support a man just like him just because a different ethic group was his target? It was appalling, actually.
