Yep. This was pure theater. He planned to assault the officer.

He grabbed on to the immigrant and "threatened" that he would not let go.

That is not assaulting anyone. He never threatened or assaulted any officer.

You keep using words which you clearly do not understand.

A lawyer I'm an acquaintance with on social media posted that if anyone is approached by a plainclothes, UC officer, they should dial 911, give their location, say there is someone here who says he's a federal officer but won't show any ID and I'm scared, and request police.

She said the federal officers must identify themselves with their credentials to local LEO.

LEOs don’t typically carry paper warrants. That’s not just an ICE thing; that’s all law enforcement everywhere.

Putting that aside, arresting someone is dangerous. Arrestees can react violently. From a law enforcement perspective, the goal is to gain physical control of the suspect as quickly as possible. A bystander inserting themselves into that process, especially before physical control is gained, is really dangerous for everyone.

Or, could it be, that he might interested in seeing the warrant? In seeing that the person is properly receiving due process?

Is due process a publicity stunt to you? Do you give away your rights?

Bystanders don’t get to spot check law enforcement as they see fit. The legality of the arrest and any process that is due are issues for lawyers and judges to address in court.

Trump has made this a dangerous country for everyone then. ICE should not expect to be able to act with impunity and not be challenged. This is the United States: a nation of laws, not men.

They do now.

“I will let go when I see the judicial warrant”

He went hands on with a federal agent during an arrest. This is what happens. BTW, I saw men wearing items of clothing that identified them as law enforcement.

At this point I think we can all agree that these democratic lawmakers are making a scene in order to get arrested. Probably to raise their profiles. We see how that worked out for Ras Baraka.

That video shows the story. The politician was forcing his way into the immigration arrest.

You saw what you wanted to see, not the truth.

He wasn't pushing. They were pulling him. The guy with his face 100% masked to the side of him clearly has his arms around him, pulling him forward.

The ICE agent said let go.

Mr. Lander said he would let go when he was shown a warrant.

The officers gave him time to comply and he did not.

Putting your hands on an ICE agent to interfere with an arrest is a crime.

Correct.

And when you assault any federal law enforcement officer who has arrest powers, that officer has full authority to arrest you.

There was no assault of a federal office by Lander. That is just a total fabrication. The video is right there to see.

These people will lie to themselves, each other, and anyone that will sit still long enough to listen.

Every one of these people gets falsely arrested or detained should be suing. At the very least we’d find out if they are rallying officer or bounty hunters.

Do the bounty hunter scum have qualified immunity?

He obstructed arrest and then fought the officers as they were trying to separate the two.

Yes as long as they say they are law enforcement they can do what ever they want. There is no accountability for law enforcement. This is why they did prosecute their brothers Jan6’ers.

How so? Lander got arrested, as did the immigrant he was trying to protect. He accomplished nothing.

They absolutely do not.
You think they do just because you say so? LOL.

Do you not see the badge on the one guy’s hip? And the vest with ERO patch on the other? You’re just making shit up.

Suing the people who are running around falsely arresting people should be sued. Does anyone know what they can be sued for? Will ACLU take up some of these cases?
