I had to check the year of your post because unfortunately, many of the boys are also wearing short shorts now. It’s a thing.

Sorry no. I have NEVER seen a boy's balls or actual butt hanging out of shorts. Not once. But girl's actual butts (not just top of thighs) are regularly hanging out of shorts. Boys shorts are fine. I'm glad they aren't past their knees anymore as the style.

This is funny. Very true. The boys shorts are shorter but not booty shorts. I like the change. The girls' shorts on the other hand are getting shorter and shorter with butt cheeks hanging out. I mean, they make them like that these days. Even my daughters wear them but I know what battles to fight and it aint this one.

The young girls are *trying* to sexualize their bodies. That’s the whole point of wearing shorts that look like underwear. It’s a normal part of adolescence, but it IS about attracting the leering glances of boys and men. In fact it is so obviously for this reason that the girls dress this way, that I find it strange when parents don’t question it- you have a duty to educate and set guidelines them in safety, academics, nutrition, good sleeping habits, safe sex, screens, financial independence…. But educating and setting guidelines for them in dress is being a “perverted creep.”

It’s one thing to wear short shorts (fine) and another for the butt cheeks to be exposed. These girls have their butt cheeks showing. It’s awful. Parents should not be allowing this, excusing it, or encouraging it. Nobody wants to see anybody’s butt cheeks at school or in public. It’s distracting to everybody, and demeans the girls. Just no. I was at a secondary school during bell exchange recently and also saw about 1/4 of the girls butt cheeks. Awful. It’s terrible that this is accepted and allowed.

I definitely perused the school manual to make sure it was okay. Neither short shorts, nor spaghetti strap tank tops were mentioned, so I gave her a thumbs up. If she was more curvy they'd look more skanky, but I think thin and tall girls get away with more. When I was a kid shorts had to be fingertip and straps on tank tops had to be 2 inch wide at least. I'm, ahem, a certain age lol and I remember daisy dukes and much shorter shorts for guys too. We're all wearing capris and cargo shorts now so I don't worry about the kids enjoying their short shorts days.
