How are some parents okay with this?

It's not the sleeping in that I have an issue with, it's the staying up all night. When are DH and I supposed to have sex if DC never goes to sleep? Our house is not that big.

Have sex in the morning while the kid asleep. Duh.

I have a morning lark. But if a kid is otherwise a responsible and respectful member of society, I have no judgement about them being a night owl. Pick your battles, I guess.

Some parents don’t care about their child’s sleep routine, or lack there of. They probably are unaware of the negative impact this will have in the long run.

As caring parents, it’s our responsibility to do the best we can. Your child is fortunate to have a parent who sees the value in promoting healthy sleep routines, on a regular basis.

Please describe in detail and cite your sources.

Teens need sleep. Who cares?

I remember as a teen sleeping all day during the summer a few times.

I had to get up for school at 6 am, and it was terrible how exhausted I became from that.

My kid gets up so early during the school year that if they can sleep late in the summer, I would be happy about it! Maybe 1 o’clock is kind of late, but if they were otherwise busy with work or studying or whatever, I’d be fine with it.
