Yes. Catholics that vote for Trump don't seriously think that he cares about abortion or the pope or the Bible. They know he does not and that he uses these issues to get votes and sells the Bibles to get money. And they don't care about his sinning and sacrilege.

This is why I have pretty much left the church. The MAGAs have taken over and are destroying the church from the inside out.

Yep, I’ve been telling my elderly conservative Catholic parents that Trump is using them and will turn on them when it will suit him, but they won’t have it all call me a leftist (whatever that means to them). I am from a very Catholic family. I grew up lighting candles at church with my grandmother and my dad goes to weekday morning mass. I have moved away from the church and I am critic of a number of things, but I still strongly identify with my upbringing. I am deeply offended by the White House post of Trump dressed like the Pope. The Pope is closest to God - his representative on Earth. It would be deeply offensive for anyone to “cosplay” the highest leader of the Catholic Church, but a morally corrupt sinner like Trump literally makes me sick. What was the purpose of this post, if not to belittle the Church and the conclave. Really? Explain it to me like I’m five years old. And since Vance isn’t a real Catholic (just a late in life fringe convert for political reasons) it is unsurprising that he didn’t ask for it to be removed or call it out.
