Is it okay for DS to wear a beanie to Easter Mass?

He is home from college and skittish about going to church because of his severely balding hair, making it hard to style. I was going to go out and buy him a nice elegant beanie (cashmere?) in a neutral color. Would a boy wearing a beanie (hat) while dressed in slacks, sport coat and button down shirt for Easter Mass be in any way inappropriate?

Neither God nor Jesus would have any judgment if his hair is a mess or in a beanie.

Having said that, I think that many Catholic parents of teenagers and young adults know that it's a blessing when they continue to choose to attend, and would appreciate if he chooses to attend in the hat, vs. staying home without it.

Ha ha

I can’t believe so many PPs took this seriously. Obvious satire.

Up there with what types of bathroom tissue do UMC people prefer.

You're ridiculous. Anyone bothered by headwear in church is missing the point of church.

Yet the requirement for women to wear some sort of head covering in a Catholic church was maintained at least through the 70’s. Are you arguing that the Church itself was missing the point of church PP? At some churches, women without headwear could purchase something deemed appropriate. Others would resort to options like using hairpins to attach handkerchiefs to comply with the rules.

As someone who has suffered through a couple bouts of alopecia, in my experience church has been one of the most accepting environments—one of the few environments in which nobody made remarks about my hair and were genuinely welcoming when I felt pretty down about it.
