+ 1.

Fact is: the US already had its first woman president.
Edith Wilson?

No, not her.

Think more recent

Kamala Harris.

She's a fighter and incredibly courageous. I couldn't see it before- but she's convincing people that she's for "them" not billionaires, corporations, etc. She is gaining a lot of traction and respect.

Mega donors will give AOC zero traction and zero respect and therefore she has zero chance of advancing her political career unless she becomes one of the swamp creatures. It sucks but that is the current state of American politics.

Well US politics have sure changed quickly in 2025 haven’t they? Who’s to say what comes next? If it’s burned to the ground, anything can rise from the ashes.

Great point! Our political landscape does need a douching and reboot. I'm all for it!

The female politician showing me the most by far these days - on either side of the aisle - is AOC. I hope she runs. I would vote for her in a heartbeat. You may not agree with all of her policies but no one can deny that she cares about this country and its people. And she’s a great politician.

Yea, AOC is a populist who says a lot of things mainstream Americans want and need to hear. She has two choices. She can continue being true to herself and her beliefs while capping her political career ceiling at Representative or maybe Senator one day or she can drop the anti-wealth, anti-capitalism rhetoric so that she gets the green light from mega donors to advance her career in to executive leadership positions in Federal Government. I'm sure Bernie Sanders has had this conversation with her a gazillion times.

I become more of a fan of AOC with each passing day that she remains true to herself and her personal integrity. She is living comfortably on a Representative salary and undoubtedly earning supplemental income with her fame and popularity but she could quickly become a multi-multi millionaire if she sold her soul to the swamp like the majority of her colleagues in Congress have.

I'm also impressed with how AOC has evolved in recent years. She's one of the few Democrats who seems to genuinely care about working and middle class Americans. And she's very sharp. If she maintains her focus, she'll go far. But she is only 35. Her time is not now. A better move for her would be to take Schumer's seat in '28. She's already far ahead in the polls for the NY Senate seat.

Regarding a woman winning the presidency, if Nikki Haley had been the Republican nominee, she would have won in a Reagan-like landslide. The only thing that kept Democrats even remotely viable this last election was Donald Trump. Democrats lose because they have shit candidates and unpopular policies, not because of the gender of their politicians.

I could see a Liz Cheney. She's a Republican but the anti-Trump.

You’re nuts.

Really, how so? Happy to revisit this post in a few years.
