The first woman president

I think you mean Jill Biden was the first woman president.

I don't think there is any problem with the US voting for a female president. People forget that Hillary Clinton actually got more votes than Trump did in 2016. She didn't get to be president due to the electoral collage, but she got the majority of votes.

HRC would have been POTUS in 2008 had she been nominated back then when she was in her prime and had little baggage. If she had been as motivated and driven in 2016 to campaign like she did back in 2008, she would have easily won the electoral votes needed to beat Trump.

Her lack of time spent in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania relative to Trump is inexplicable in hindsight. She either campaigned lazily or campaigned based on an assumption of easy victory in those states or both. Those mid-western states that have been in economic turmoil for 30 years are swing states and a POTUS candidate has tell them what they want to hear in order to be successful. Trump did, Hillary didn't.

Yeah sure HRC would've been president whenever she faced 0 opposition.

Yes sir HRC surely would've won without the pesky appearance of one of the most charismatic politicians of the last 100 years.

Umkay. She was facing the uphill battle of being a Dem running after an 8 year Dem POTUS, she had the Benghazi and Email baggage and she campaigned in a lazy manner relative to her opponent but yet still received more votes than Trump in 2016. She destroyed Biden back in the 2008 Dem primary when both were in their primes before losing to a generational political talent in the 2008 primary. HRC is brilliant and she was a stud politician 20 years ago. You just don't have the knowledge or memory to understand circumstances from that long ago.

Alexander Hamilton never became POTUS either. Neither did Ben Franklin. Neither did Dean Smith. Circumstances.

Agree with this BUT I dont think it’s a given there will be a woman president in my lifetime.

You're right. No one was standing in Obama's way. He not only took down HRC in her prime but he also beat two very formidable opponents in McCain & Romney in POTUS general elections. Trump and Biden would have been completely destroyed by Obama. Biden actually was destroyed by Obama when Biden was in his political prime back in 2008. That same Biden at 77 years old was able to beat Trump so there is historical reference to prove Obama's superiority to every American politician since Bill Clinton.

The Dem was going to win in 2008. It was inevitable.

Michelle didn’t want Obama to run, while the girls were so young. He went ahead. Trump was born because of Obama. He started his birthright blather and then Obama and Seth Myers made fun of him. Ergo, if Obama would have waited, we wouldn’t be here today.

^^And, he still would have been president, albeit…later.

Dems got it wrong in the 2008 Primary. We by-passed someone who was more qualified and in their prime for a person who had just begun their political journey and had a 20 year window of guaranteed to be POTUS one day. Then the DNC manipulation that determined who could and couldn't be nominee reared it's ugly head in 2016 and 2020. Here we are paying the price for these missteps by enduring a second term of the worst POTUS ever.

We'll be back in the high life again. All the doors we closed one time, will open up again.

This is one helluva stretch of speculative fiction.
