Change comes from feeling empowered and well-represented. I will be even more active politically going forward, and know that my Representative appreciated my support of his very active efforts to speak out publicly and to initiate change both within the court system and within Congress. Multiply that by 10s of thousands. Then multiply it by millions. If my Representatives can motivate a handful of Republicans to put the needs of the country over the needs of their Party, very real change can happen quickly. It’s about building a strong collective. That protest was just Step 1. Empowering voters to be more active — and to influence other voters to be similarly empowered as we support our elected representatives is a great first step. |
Protest in normcore clothes with a face mask, baseball cap and glasses, without your phone (or have it off and wrapped in foil twice). Do it now while you still can. |
Exchanging favors for money is more effective. Protesting is for those with no political or financial nous. |
Because they might get caught up in a Jan. 6th type event. Thanks for prosecuting that liberals, nice precedent. |
Foil does nothing. |
An insurrection is different than a peaceful protest but I think it’s already clear. I can’t protest because I’m a federal worker and won’t go down that path. It’s too risky. I feel mildly better seeing the crowds and knowing it’s not hopeless even though I feel too concerned to protest. I do think they will prosecute American protestors if this trend continues to be unchecked with prosecuting innocent non-citizens. |
The stupidity is staggering. American logic is at an all time low. |
Wouldn't it be easier if we all just agreed to never again be duped into voting for 80 year old clowns? |
I’ve been to the Holocaust museum. I know how this progresses. I don’t want to end up in CECOT. |
What gaslighting. No one who JUST stood in the crowd near the monument was charged with anything. Trespassing, damaging federal property, and attacking police officers was the problem. |
80 isn’t the problem. It’s the fascism, authoritarianism, and mafia-state. Stop being duped by criminals and conmen. |
80 isn't the problem??? Really? For hundreds of years we were smart enough not to elect elderly presidents. We recently went bat poop crazy and decided that mental fitness wasn't an important characteristic for the most powerful person in the world to have. We are currently suffering the consequences of recently going bat poop crazy. Find a brain and do better, please. |
No, 80 is not the problem. Bernie Sanders is out there leading the progressive revolution along with AOC. Being a criminal, authoritarian, and anti-American the problem. Every 80 year old I know is coherent and intelligent and thoughtful. They can’t run a 5 minute mile but they are smart, ethical, and mature. Unlike this lifetime conman criminal and Putin puppet. It’s the morals, stupid. |
Lol. Yet another overly general, random negative comment. Troll better! |
