If you are a US born citizen and a working member of the upper middle class

What does showing your face add though? Trump insisting that Columbia ban students from wearing masks during protests says all you need to know. Why do exactly what he wants? Seems low/no reward for a lot of risk.

Effective protest happens at polling stations. It doesn't happen when a bunch of unhinged so-called protesters and counter-protesters throw rocks at each other.

I attended a protest and it was the first I've attended in my life. There was no rock throwing. It was people standing up and demonstrating to the community, the state, the media, and the powers that be in this country and around the world that millions of people are not ok with what is going on. My child attended too.

I'm not saying you have to show your face. I'm asking why more people aren't protesting.

Risk of what, exactly? Do people think that Trump will be able to round up tens of millions of people who protested and, what... deport all these legal American citizens or throw them in prison? And the rest of the country will not rise up?

CEO of a tech company was thrown out because he supported a political cause and people objected.

Were you in public? Zero expectations of privacy if so.

If you believe in your cause, show your face!

If those opposed to your cause are fascist POS losers who support a radical, extremist movement that sits at the epicenter of global conflict, why welcome their doxxing, harassment, and campaign of terror into your life by proferring your identity on a silver platter?

There won't be a decade of this. Things will soon either change at the polls or by other means.
. Dems keep thinking they can “use other means” to get rid of popular political opponents. But this makes Dems even less likey to succeed at the ballot box. Voters aren’t impressed by BLM terrorism or by Dem arsonists igniting Teslas.

Correct. It also happens through group affiliated messaging to politicians.

Both are dependent on having a political party advocate for policies that US voters want

Democrats seem to missy that point

A lot of people protested on April 5th. Most of us are not afraid to show our faces. Well, I am not anyway.

There are actually A LOT of protests going on, all the time and all over. The mainstream media has been strangely quiet about it. It is one of the reasons that my parents just unsubscribed from their beloved New York Times.

NP. Judging by the comments on this thread, the US has gone soft and no one will rise up.

I was out protesting on April 5th and had no face covering. I do think Trump and the GOP want to hurt Americans who protest against them and MAGA would cheer them on. I just think there are too many for them to contend with on a systemic level. Give it time, I’m sure Trump will try to kill us.

Correct, which is why US born citizens should protest in the hundreds of thousands

It’s a Gen Z thing. It’s the same line of thinking as going to Human Resources to solve their work relationships. Low risk and indirect. They want everything gentle, no risks, and it’s great when someone else to work it out for them— so they don’t have to deal with real or speculative consequences. My kids don’t like ordering things in person bc it’s uncomfortable (I compelled them to do that for practice).

I’m a Black woman. Please reassure me — if you can — that if I’m one of the people that gets arrested, the rest of the country will “rise up”. Let’s start with you, PP. Are you and your friends going to notice that I’ve been arrested? Once you notice, will you come and find me from wherever I’ve been taken? I’m pretty sure that for all of my degrees and “upper middle class” interests, I’ll be left to rot. I’d like to think that I’m wrong though. Well?
