Anyone get telework approved at SEC?

My mental health has tanked so far so fast I’d be in awe if misery weren’t the only thing I’m capable of feeling anymore. My new office is like a box with no windows and I never realized how much I got used to seeing daylight and greenery as I work.

I've got a windowless cell too. My cellie isn't bad, could have gotten worse but my cell is a single that they turned into a double so it's tight quarters.

I actually wasn’t so down about going back because I was already going in a few days a week. I have been practicing law for 20 years and am sharing an internal office. Hard to get work done and the commute is awful. I’m going onsite next week and looking forward to not being in the office.

I really hope reasonableness prevails and we get our pre-Covid telework back. The hybrid model really was ideal.

How long are they going to require everyone to do the 5 Bullets? I think the agency is the only one still doing it.

HHS still doing 5 bullets (except NIH). My friend at DoD also doing them.

It really doesn’t matter. Almost all agencies tossed out the CBAs no matter how they were worded.

I’ve heard of one or two stopping, but why do you think most have?

Various friends at various other agencies.

What happens if mgmt just said No? Funding cut? Chair fired? RV takes over? Seriously?

Not SEC but each supervisor at our agency is interpreting situational telework differently. It's a cluster. Overall though, it's been a very strict definition of it. Like "I have a doctors appointment at 2:00, can I telework after?" And then sometimes that doesn't get approved.

I’m confused. Headquarters lost 1/3 of its building after lease expired. So how on earth are they cramming 33 pct of staff into the remaining 2/3?

Tons and tons of shared offices.

Are people asking for telework already? You’d think they’d hold off for week 1 at least.

Our contractors got to work from home 100% to give up their seats.

Jesus, give it a rest on the five things. It can’t take you more than a minute to pick and choose from the preset options. Or just use the same from last week since your work probably doesn’t differ greatly and you are down to thirty seconds.
