The 3 restaurants to which you take your family most frequently

Lots of places in Del Ray are kid friendly- Los Tios, Fireflies, Mancinis

Also like walking around Georgetown when it's nice out and getting food at Dean and Deluca and sitting outside. Kids don't have to be too quiet and they can run around and then you can always get up and walk around again, get yogurt, etc...it makes for a fun outing.

A great place we regularly take our DD is New Fortune in Rockville for Dim Sum on Sundays. It is always packed with large Chinese and non-Chinese families, loud, bustling and great food!

I agree - small plates are perfect for kids and Dim Sum is the Chinese version. We also do Jaleo a lot.

Bethesda downtown:

Moby Dick
Aji-Nippon Restaurant
American Tap Room (just opened, great brunches)
VaPiano
Cafe DeLuxe
Five Guys
Tastee Diner
Mama Lucia

I hate the last three but my kids 9 and 4 love them, so I suffer once in a while.

Cactus Cantina
Cafe Deluxe
Sushi Sushi (where we stare at the pretty people going into 2 Amy's)

NP here and though we haven't been in awhile, we love Jaleo's too. No we dont go for dinner rush, when we take the kids we go no later than 5-5.30. We also try to eat outside when the weather's nice.

Other places we like are:

Parkers
Tastee Diner
American Tap Room (only been once so far, but it was great)
Chicken Out

We used to really love Rio Grande but apparently they have a new manager. After being 4 or 5 times we've noticed a real decline in food and service. It sucks because our 3 y/o is always asking to eat there anytime we go around that way.

Jaleo, Austin Grille, & maybe Mama Lucia's- International- American and Italian- great salads at Mama Lucia's!

Tony Cheng's Mongolian Grill. Ther is no wait for a table and no wait for food. Kids love to select their veggies and meat and then watch it cooked. The staff is welcoming, the dining room is huge and there is interesting stuff for kids to look at (giant Budda, tanks with fish and lobsters).

Guapo's
Cheesecake Factory

(We have a one-year-old.)

There's a Rio Grande in Gaithersburg - we've had great food and service there, though it is a bit of a haul.

Chipotle
Wegmann's
Coyote Grille & Cantina

DD is 2 and Wegmann's is by far the place she behaves the best...not sure why.

if the earlier PP is reading this, we've been to the Dogfish Head in Seven Corners several times. The food is decent and the service is very kid-friendly. (adult-friendly too.)
