so what is BigLaw going to do about it, aside from fold? |
Yes for a long time. People who don’t say it at the water cooler are not hardcore. They will not stop it when their firms takes on pro bono cases against the administration. |
Posts like the one you are responding to are good for us. Many practicing lawyers in DC assume a baseline level of knowledge. Good to be reminded how ignorant people on both sides are. |
This is attacking not only those who disagree with you, but anyone connected to them (even when those original people left years ago). The first is unacceptable in a democracy. The second is a whole other level unbiblical: harming the son for the "sins" of the father. But who ever really believed that this group of people has anything real to do with the Bible or with Christ. |
Describing Trump perfectly. |
Trump is stupid, Big Law is not. More court losses for Trump. |
Well despite my spelling, it's true. I must be a better lawyer than I am a speller. |
Here is the full slate: https://www.dcbar.org/news-events/news/nominations-committee-announces-2025-candidates-fo D.C. Bar Nominations Committee evaluates nominations for Board vacancies to build a slate of candidates for the annual elections. The NomCom is appointed by the President of the Bar, so that's a lot of power in hands of anyone with ill intent. Running for President this year: Pam Bondi's brother. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-administration/trump-allies-bradley-bondi-control-dc-bar-association-rcna195253 |
Also running is the interim DC US attorney’s chief of staff, Alicia Long, for treasurer. (Interim DC attorney is the one sending misspelled and threatening letters to law schools and members of Congress and calls himself “President Trump’s lawyer.” Also, he’s a huge proponent of Jan 6 defendants.) |
It's not like he doesn't have a basis for thinking the law firm was out to get him. It was the law firm that Hilary Clinton used to push the false Russian Dossier.
I agree they should have their security clearances pulled. The firm represented Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 presidential race, and it also contracted with the research firm that produced the now-discredited opposition dossier that alleged extensive contacts between Trump and Russia. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/03/06/trump-perkins-coie-hillary-clinton-steele-dossier/ |
You think it's acceptable to go after a firm's security clearances because they represented his opponent in an election? Good lord. |
I think it should follow the specific attorneys who were involved with the false reports/narrative. |
If you can show legal misconduct the proper action is to make a specific bar complaint or targeted action. Which this is not. And yes, the difference is crucial. Stop normalizing dictator behavior. |
+1. |
Oh, there wasn't a full 'flip' in five years???? You wouldn't know it the way they're harping... |
