How is this legal? This is retaliatory and discriminatory based on viewpoint.
This guy and Musk to ruin our country. It’s looking almost treasonous. |
It's also weird to declare a hiring freeze, slash your budget to the point of dysfunction, and then threaten not to hire people. You already said you weren't hiring! |
+1. I predict by America’s 250th birthday next year the theme everywhere will be “Down with the King!” and people will have had enough of this crap. The halfway normal and quasi-establishment people who helped Trump back to power will have had enough. Pissing off lawyers everywhere is a bad idea. |
Well, there are probably quite a few who wanted government service jobs about 4 months ago — who now will have to rethink their career plans. |
It’s also based on race. Many of us remember when that was openly commonplace. So does 78 year old Trump. So does South African Musk. |
Where did you get this? Link? Also, let's face it, who from a good law school would want to work for Trumputin's government? |
The thing is, he's getting rid of all the competent lawyers in the DOJ and replacing them with graduates of Cooley. I don't think the new "DOJ" stands a chance against the former feds, who are now joining these law firms. You're not going to win a gunfight if you're shooting blanks. |
The dean’s response is *chef’s kiss.” https://www.rawstory.com/ed-martin-georgetown-clash/ |
That dope who's the interim US Attorney for DC told Georgetown Law he wouldn't hire any of their students until they eliminate DEI. https://apnews.com/article/trump-dei-georgetown-ed-martin-9bff842ed5ca3e4600de52ca6967fe9d The Law School Dean sent an excellent letter back. ![]() ![]() |
They are hardcore Trump voters. Who cares? |
Great letter from Georgetown |
Those who have client bases aside from the federal government should be fine. |
In another contracting climate, the firms may not have gotten the government contracts without showing sufficient DEI policies were in place. |
This is not true. I don’t know a single associate or law firm partner at my V10 firm who has admitted to voting for Trump. If they are, they are silent because they know better. However, many of us have also been outspokenly anti-Trump since he arrived onto the political scene. At the same time, I don’t feel bad for law firms either. They are plenty capable of defending themselves and hopefully they do something useful against Trump and his cronies. |
I hope no one from any good law school applies to work for this administration. So that works out nicely. |
