He is going after Covington because they are representing jack smith. It’s completely insane and I sincerely hope that they get so much more business because of it. |
Especially since BigLaw spent every minute of the Biden administration challenging every regulation and attacking the legitimacy of basically every independent agency. |
Also using DEI to investigate firms is atrocious. And obviously DEI at law firms didn’t work - pretty sure 95% of partners are old white men. |
These suspensions are appealable, I believe, and winnable, since they were not suspended for any good reason.

I mean they can’t be officially successful at this kind of hiring practice but it will certainly have a chilling effect, to a degree. It will also embolden some. As I said in my other post, they are also threatening law schools and demanding they change their curriculums or they will ban any grad from that school. Not that many new grads think they’ll get hired by the govt anytime soon anyway but that’s a scary threat for a student or new lawyer. |

Can anyone list them, please? |
Isn't that the firm where Marc Elias works? |
I know of one top tier firm that I won't name and I'm sure there are others! |
The idea that Big Law is some sort of bastion of truth, equality, and free speech is ridiculous. Feck them. They are complicit in destroying our environment, ruining our healthcare and enriching corporations at the expense of non-rich people. |
The part about law schools is much more concerning but the form stuff is bad. He's attempting to kill more liberal firms because they have the power to fight him in court. |
Used to. His group was spun out several years ago. |
Sullivan & Cromwell is the obvious one. |
