The petition organizer must have had to be desperate to get J Raskin if no one on the BOE, County Council were willing

No one from BOE? Do these people have own kids in this school system?

^ Some of them DO have kids in MCPS

The only BOE member with kids in the system is Rita Montoya. And she seems to be ok with MCPS’s approach to safety and is supportive of Chief Jones, unfortunately.

The rest don’t currently have kids in MCPS, though Karla and Julie did. Their kids have since graduated.

What is Jones' role within MCPS?

Why are people not in support of the metal detectors?

Jackson Reed HS in NW DC is an example of a school that has them. Can JR parents on McPS forum chime in -- have they worked?

Too much time to enter school building?
It's elementary school parents and middle school parents who should be advocating and raising hell...high school will be here very soon. With the amount of lawyers in this area it's incredible they have been able to get away with some of the things happening

Why don't people want to have metal detectors in an urban-suburban school district? This is not the 1990s MCPS!

Why? Jamie Raskin is not the decision maker here.

I actually don’t know if his kids are in MCPS, though you would assume they are….cause if they aren’t, that would be a really bad look.
