Um, like,
enforcing consequences

suspension or whatever they call it in this century

expulsion or whatever they call that word in this century

Checking each and every backpack everyday for 2k+ students at each of the 26 HS. It it is not feasible. Is it?

Journalists on this board (are there any from WaPo?), you need to do a piece on this evolving news - the petition and upcoming meeting on the topic of safety (once again)

SGAs should be involved in discussions. SMOB too.

Volunteering in MCPS gets you nowhere. You can have all the heart and energy in the world, but volunteers cannot change a system that does not want to change.

Our ES wouldn't allow parent volunteers. They were very hush hush on what happened in the school which was a huge red flag.

Have specialized schools. Charge the kids and let DJJ handle it/lock them up.

Has the petition been sent to ES parents? They should have a say in this too.

In support of detection system:
-kids do this everywhere else (place of worship, museums, airports) why not at school
-the "trauma" of walking through one is less traumatic than experiencing repeated lockdowns.

Those against detection system:
-mcps is better than DC and PG no we can't have it in the largest school district in MD (some HS are in more urban areas than others)

Can they put a ban on brooms? It's a sick tradition in mcps.

That's called parenting and monitor and strict what your child does.

Violence prevention is also called parenting.
