One way is to go to the representative’s website and click on the contact information. It should provide a phone number to call and a form to send an email. If you call, you can say something like: “This is Mary Smith, one of your constituents. I’d like to speak with someone regarding an article I saw in [WaPo, Reuters, wherever] regarding Elon Musk seeking to access the US Treasury’s payment systems. This is concerning to me because …”

Email works too

A lot of them have changed emails and require you to attest you live in their district. Probably because so many progressives wrote in. I did all the time during Trump’s first term. Which is infuriating because they represent people. I think I’m going to start mailing postcards.

District schmistrict
Those of us who live in DC should be allowed to email any member of Congress we want because otherwise we don't have representation.

Agree and frankly you can. All Congress people have a way for you to communicate with the regardless of where you live. So go right ahead and email, call, DM, or tag in a Social Media post.

Elon does not have the power or the authority to do that. And for that matter neither does the President. Only Congress has the power to stop funding, and for the Executive Branch to stop funding a program is unconstitutional and illegal impoundment.

Congress needs to step up. And the courts. But will they?

We are obeying the law now?

Right! Congress is rolling over so he’ll scratch their belly. Congress does not care.

Then attest you live in their district. Most of them are lying all the time so they can take hearing from other people even those not in their district.

Just like Russia and N Korea, all monies will be funneled through Trump accounts while the rest of us eat sand and water for dinner.

No. For some reason they are all scared of Muskrat.

They are willing to burn the US down to please him.

Should we be moving our money to non US banks?

Just talk to whoever picks up the phone. You tell them you are a constituent and ask what the rep/senator is DOING about this. Not his/her position but what ACTION are they taking and when.

A majority of Supreme Court believes in the “unitary executive” or a strong executive branch. All this shock and awe is designed prompt lawsuits and get the court to rule in their favor.

On the other hand, their view is that Congress can impeach if president overreaches.

Congressional Republicans want the president to cut all the stuff don’t like and deport illegals and don’t want their fingerprints on it. They will give him free rein until mission accomplished. Or until enough constituents tell them this isn’t what we voted for.

If we were a country of laws and the law were being upheld, you would be right, Musk doesn't have the power or authority for this. However, we are no longer a country of laws for certain people and the GOP, which is in control of the branches of government, is perfectly happy to cede any and all power to Musk.

We now have a South African president.

Do you think apathy will make any difference? In fact that’s what they are banking on. How hard is it to draft three emails, and schedule them to be sent on a different day. And then have everyone you know who feels the same, to do the same thing.

How difficult is it to call out a representative and request they meet with constituents about what is going on.

It’s not difficult at all. I never called before today and am an extreme internet and it was easy and I wasn’t put on hold.
