Yep. Gov. Moore needs to find a real plan for economic development that is not reliant on the government.

I don't see that happening. Moore doesn't seem to do much. The state is losing population and has little corporate presence. Meanwhile taxes will probably go up.

Wes Moore has an absolutely dismal record as governor.

- over spent state budget
- raised taxes
- paid a mint to keep Orioles and Ravens
- loses Commanders
- loses FBI HQ

Aside from smiling at photo ops, what exactly does this guy do?

Are not the Commanders still playing their games in Landover, MD. And the loss of the FBI HQ is not a done deal.

Wes Moore and Maryland are screwed. In the current year appropriations bill, House Republicans are still trying to keep FBI HQ in DC. And it’s highly likely that they will not even pass a budget until the new session of Congress when Republicans control both chambers.
The House version of the bill, drafted by Republicans, doesn’t include any funding for a new FBI headquarters and would require the GSA to send Congress “a detailed plan and timeline to support the District of Columbia based personnel by keeping the current FBI headquarters operational or identifying another Federally owned location in the District of Columbia that can serve as the FBI headquarters building.”

The FBI has said that they want to stay in DC as their first choice. The Rs are supporting what FBI management want. FBI rank and file on the other hand want to be in Virginia. What FBI management wants could change in January. If you read the article you would also learn that there is a counter proposal to move the FBI headquarters to Huntsville, Alabama.

The Commanders will be stuck in Md since Elon Musk on his X platform opposes the RFK land swap.

It would be funny if the FBI ends up at RFK instead.

The nominee of the head R is proposing to shut down the DC headquarters and ship its employees all over the country. I doubt that's what FBI management wants, and I really doubt that's what the rank and file want.

The preference of the current FBI management is to stay in DC.

It’s possible Trump and Musk could relocate the rank and file to Alabama, and keep only a small office here in DC to meet the congressional mandate that the FBI remain in the National Capital Region.

That is an alternate proposal under consideration.

As reported by the NYTimes, Patel vows to close the DC FBI HQ, possibly to relocate everyone not in the field to Alabama, where a new facility was recently built.

Trump however still wants to build a grand, palatial, new FBI HQ in DC. With the new federal mandate for a civic architecture that follows the classical tradition of Ancient Rome and Greece, it should look stunning, for those who like ancient Roman architecture. Corinthian marble columns, with the capitals gilded in gold, beautiful sculptural friezes depicting historical events, etc.

I think they want to keep the FBI headquarters there because the Justice Department is across the street and are always getting together on cases.

Moore is a loser. Not surprising, since he had zero elected-office experience when he sat down in the governor's chair. WTH Maryland.

I hope somebody decent runs against him.

I would think so. Brining all those agents in for grand jury cases will cost a lot for per diem otherwise.

FBI Director Kash Patel wants to move jobs to field offices, Alabama complex

that’s 1100 jobs that aren’t coming back.
